The accommodation is very nice and quiet, making it an ideal place to stay, especially for those sailing in or out of South Uist. The hosts, Peter and Archie, are incredibly helpful and respond to any issues promptly. The rooms are nicely furnished, offering a comfortable atmosphere, and the kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped. Additionally, having a washing machine available is a significant advantage for guests.

We stayed at this Pod during our Hebridean Way cycling tour, and it couldn't have been better! The pod was incredibly cosy, spotlessly clean, and beautifully furnished. Everything we needed, and more, was thoughtfully provided, from kitchen essentials to the smallest details, all perfectly stored and organized. The bed was extremely comfortable, offering a restful night’s sleep after a long day of cycling. We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket filled with bread, milk, eggs, coffee, tea, and other thoughtful touches—a real treat! Communication with Amanda, the host, was first-class. The location is stunning, and the beach is just a short walk away. Highly recommend this pod for anyone exploring the area!

Polochar Inn is on the southern tip of South Uist the view from the property is stunning. 360deg with Eriskay to the east, Barra across the sound to the south and North America just out of view across the horizon. 😎 The food was excellent in the morning for breakfast served in the panoramic restaurant with these fantastic views.😋😎 The staff were great, chatty and quick to fix up our room which had been set as a twin instead of a double. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay in or even just to go for a drink as the sun goes down with the waves lapping the rocks right in front of the entrances, there can't be many places with this kind of views😎👍👍👍

The location was perfect, the bedroom was excellent, and it was a good shower. I loved the breakfast. The rosemary omelette was divine. Rupert is a fantastic host and so helpful to us. When it was time to leave, he helped us with our final preparations. A big thank you to Rupert 🙏.

Very nice place. Whereas in my experience with most holiday homes you don't get to meet anyone (there are only messages and code to key safe) it must be said that meeting the host in person really adds to the positive experience, thank you Rona for your hospitality, friendliness and help.

incredible. Linda was a superb host and the pod was really danatatsic. My recommendation for staying here would be to do it if you have a car, but then I would probably say that about the island as a whole as it’s a better way of getting round. the pod was super clean and the bed was very comfy. had a great time and will be back!

Lots to do- look into visiting the north & south area- all are within a comfortable drive. Get a map that shows the highlights- nature preserve, beaches, distilleries, standing stones, castle ruins, Uist Soap, restaurants like Politician, Charlie’s, Westford- all worth a trip. Stayed in Uist Travel Accommodation- clean, well stocked, ideal location- loved Peter & Archie (proprietors)- couldn’t ask for more! Went above & beyond to assist & accommodate! Will definitely plan a return trip!

I booked. Ferry became unavailable.

I booked. Ferry became unavailable. I requested cancellation and refund 2 days in advance. Response was try another route. Not possible due to other commitments and bookings...email sent...BUT NO RESPONSE! UNHAPPY AND VERY DISSATISFIED.

All towns in Outer Hebrides are very small.

All towns in Outer Hebrides are very small. Daliburgh is a great location close enough to multiple harbours and on the main road. The shop has exceptionally long opening hours and is well stocked (Co-op). Buses are running too and fairly frequently. Good walks nearby.

Attention-to-detail by the owners, a winning recipe from a traveller's point of view. We wish the owners every success - it is clearly well-deserved! Breakfast was cooked-to-order and scrumptious! You do need a car to travel around on this island.

Daliburgh is centrally located: to the south lies Eriksay...

Daliburgh is centrally located: to the south lies Eriksay and the ferry to Barra. To the east is Lochboisdale. To the north are Benbecula and North Uist. To the west, small roads lead to the sea. The post office, church (RC), and health post are within walking distance. A supermarket and golf course are just a short drive away.
