We liked everything about Kirkconnel Hall Hotel, it was very accommodating, different in that it was an old listed building, full of history, great hosts, and a very inviting lounge bar. The bedroom was very spacious as was the bathroom. Great building you could get lost in!

I was really surprised by the spacious room for our group of four friends. Parking was possible either just a few steps from the entrance to the hotel (free of charge only between 6 PM - 8 AM) or on a free parking yard some 150m from the hotel. I also enjoyed the dinner served directly at the hotel which was a bit of a surprise for such a small Scottish town of Lockerbie and available at a quite favourable price.

Large historic building, very impressive features, but decorated in a modern way. Although it wasn’t a cold November, a wood burning stove was lit in the dining room, giving the room a warm and cosy atmosphere. We had a delicious meal, perfectly cooked. The owner was very friendly and helpful, as soon as we had checked in, he took our luggage to our room without being asked. My husband is disabled but likes to do things himself even if he struggles so this was a huge help. All in all, a lovely overnight stay, I would recommend highly.

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired...

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store.We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Clean comfortable made very welcome , felt too many dont’s in conversation and didn’t like a note being put on bed we were not using after being told not to use empty bed , down side had to travel into Gretna for food to bring back , many more information on that would be useful but I also didn’t ask , have to say thank you for letting us leave a bit later to go to wedding

A very good host and attentive staff.

A very good host and attentive staff. A great breakfast to start your day off, and was a good base to visit gretna green and dumfries and on to castle douglas. Then back to hotel for a nice drink, food and comfy bed.

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

I have stayed here many times in the past and was very disappointed when it closed down. It has now reopened with new owners, and they seem to have breathed new life into the place. Do not let the outside state of the building put you off, the rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the staff are accommodating, friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend the place if you like small, family run hotels.

The new owners of the Ecclefechan Hotel, which is currently being refurbished, offered us a warm welcome and were very helpful. The upgraded bedroom was comfortable and the breakfast well presented. It is clear that this hotel is work in progress, but it has plenty of potential for development and we wish the new owners every success.

Very clean and well -appointed ensuite room in a block of 3 at a farm location. Good WiFi and TV. Good emailed instructions for access. Excellent value for money and a nice alternative to our usual motorway service station hotel overnight stays between Aberdeen and Lancashire.
