For a hotel that seems to have ongoing work inside, it has tons of character and punches above its weight. With rooms that have a feeling of home, you're guaranteed a great sleep. The staff go above and beyond for the guests making any visit that extra special. A bustling bar on the ground floor may result in a slight hangover, an exceptional Scottish breakfast washed down with some filtered coffee and fresh juice in the morning will have you back to your normal self and ready for your day in no time. I have walked through the woodland walks looking down at this mansion many times over the years. Back then it was owned by the Findhorn Foundation and people paid hundreds of pounds to stay at residential wellbeing courses here. It was a privilege to spend a night here. Clean, comfortable bedroom. The bath was enormous with plentiful hot water. Will definitely stay again.

An amazing house! It was really big with very spacious rooms. Plenty of bathrooms for the size of house. Even though the lounge was big, it felt cosy. Beds extremely comfortable. Carol was so lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you.

Breakfast was excellent. We ate everything served and left nothing on the plate. Most enjoyed conversation with other guests from European countries. Was a very precious opportunity for us travelling from Tokyo to meet and talk with such people at the big common table while having breakfast. The hosts were most friendly, very helpful and professional to make our stay extremely comfortable and relaxing. The facilities were kept clean, just like top-rated international hotels, and estate itself was in the midst of the green woods, fresh natural air and with a bit of Scottish historic flavour.

Forres is a lovely friendly town. It has lots of shops to browse. Grants parks amazing for children and any 4 legged friends. Chimes is a Great coffee shop. There was lots going on within the town with it being Remembrance Sunday.

I can’t say enough positive things about the lovely Lily...

I can’t say enough positive things about the lovely Lily Cottage. It was spotlessly clean,well appointed and has everything that one would need for a fantastic holiday in Findhorn. Pub, Bakehouse, Hotel, Cafe and beaches all within walking distance. Parked my car for the duration of the stay. Didn’t need it. The cottage is finished to a high standard and beautifully furnished.

Our stay in Forres was good.

Our stay in Forres was good. We were most impressed with the Mosset Tavern and the chippy next door. We were visiting relatives so did'nt do much site seeing, but visited Logie Steading Gallery and most impressed

Forres is one of the best, nicest towns along the Moray...

Forres is one of the best, nicest towns along the Moray Firth coast. There are still independent shops and beautiful well-kept green park areas. It has a Victorian heritage. There are a number of pubs with nice areas to sit out in. Forres is also well-connected for road, rail and air links. It forms a good base for exploring or for business visits.

Beautiful town of old buildings along the High Street. Grant Park was lovely. Huge area of lovely flower beds and play park for children. For lovers of archaeology the Huge Suennos Stone is situated in the town.

While the room was quite dated, every thing was clean & the bed was exceptionally comfortable, in all I felt that the room was good value for money. While breakfast was included I was so full from the 2 courses from the restaurant the night before I decided not to go for it so cannot comment on it. The food in the bar the night before was well presented & very tasty. All the staff I encountered at the hotel were incredibly friendly, helpful & a credit to the hotel. I would be more than happy to stay there again.

The Carisbrooke is the local pub situated at the eastern outskirts of Forres, easily accessed off the A96. Parking facilities good. Basic ground-floor room away from the public bar area. Tastefully refurbished bathroom with shower etc. Comfy bed with efficient controllable convector heater and digital tv. Tea and coffee-making facilities. Quiet overnight and a restful sleep

My stay at the Carlton Hotel was excellent. The staff were ultra friendly and the Full Carlton breakfast was exceptional. I also left a similar review on Trip Advisor to thank the wonderful Phoebe for said breakfast served with a smile. My room was cosy, comfortable and clean and very good value.
