We love the area, and Hunstanton itself has a good mix of shops, cafes and restaurants and is very clean. Whether on the beach, walking on the promenade or watching the sunset it’s never disappointed us. Plenty to see and do nearby, and plenty of “day trip” seaside towns to visit along the coast.

One of our favourite places to visit.

One of our favourite places to visit. A lovely old fashioned seaside town with spectacular cliffs and sunsets. You've got stretches of sand if you want to dig sandcastles but also pebbles, rocks & seabirds under the cliffs. A gorgeous beach walk towards the Old Hunstanton village and salt marshes beyond. Really good beach cafes too. And Hunstanton has top notch B&Bs & eateries. Such a great place to chill out and enjoy the sea in all its colours.

We go to Hunstanton as it is very dog friendly with a nice beach and town with lots of places that welcome dogs. The Golden lion is a great place to eat. There isn't a huge amount to do in Hunstanton at the time of year we go but there is the surrounding area to explore.

Hunstanton is a great base for exploring Norfolk.

Hunstanton is a great base for exploring Norfolk. In itself you can wander the beach and promenade, enjoy the usual seaside amusements and shopping. Some great chip shops/restaurants and the usual gift shops and standard shopping. We stayed off the main season and found it nice and peaceful. The Esplanade Gardens are nice and well planted, and you get the usual (but fun) crazy golf snd pitch and putt. There is a Sainsbury's and Tesco if required, and the centre isn't that big so easy to get around. There is more to do here, but we travelled out each day so didn't get the time as it was a short break, but we would definitely come back. The greatest point it has is being west facing, and when the weather is right you get fantastic sunsets over the sea. These are a pure joy to sit and watch.

The Golden Lion is adjacent to and overlooks the ‘Green’ and the sea. The sunsets are e stunning. There is a pleasant family atmosphere about Hunstanton and plenty to do. With lots of ice cream outlets, fish and chip shops, pizza and other take-aways there’s no difficulty finding food either. There’s an amusement arcade right on the seafront too. Just behind this are the sea defences and a promenade. Walk towards Old Hunstanton through the beautiful award winning gardens and you will find plenty to see and do. A well equipped children’s park, bowling greens to name just two. Carry on past and you are on the cliff path. This is a smooth easy walk that leads to Hunstanton lighthouse, the old coast guards lookout and a dog friendly cafe that’s coffee and cake make it well worth the walk. The cliff top is edged with brambles which prevents accidents and provides homes for wildlife and lots of birds. Just past the cafe is the beach car park (pay and display) that has good public toilets and a bus stop. After spending time exploring the beach and Its famous layered cliffs we caught the very convenient and affordable land train. This took us back to Hunstanton green where we decided to stay onboard to complete the round trip through Hunstanton town and Searl’s immaculate holiday park then back to the cliff car park where we started. There really is something for everyone in Hunstanton. Park the car and explore.

We have been to Hunstanton before as we live in Norfolk but not stayed overnight. Good location for visiting beaches like Holme and Thornham. It’s a small seaside town ideal for a short break. We stayed at Heacham Manor Hotel. Great views of the golf course . Gardens are well attended in the town and nice to sit in and watch the world go by. Good cafes dog friendly.

I loved waking up to glorious sea views. I loved the balcony off the master bedroom and the outdoor seating area at the front of the property. The ensuite bedrooms could provide some luxury for 6 adults. The proximity to the beach is wonderful and le strange is very dog friendly with water bowls dotted around. Hunstanton beach is also dog friendly all year round. There is plenty of choices for food at the eateries on site. The pub had bands playing outside fri/sat/sun evening, we really enjoyed it, which is just as well.

The room was absolutely gorgeous! The photo's do not do this place justice. The room had plenty of room, and I really liked the fact the toilet & sink was separate from the shower & sink. Was seriously tempted to try the bath in the room (was literally a leg from the bed!) but didn't get chance. Staff gave a lovely warm welcome and pointed us towards a dog friendly pub for some decent pub-grub. (The Old Marine Bar / The Waterfront Bar are great for this, the Golden Lion Hotel is good for something a little more refined)

We both had the cooked breakfast which was very good. Bed was very large and comfortable. Room was nice and warm. Location was very close to the promenade and we enjoyed long walks along the seawall. The bathroom was large and had a bath and a shower with lots of hot water. We went to this hotel especially because it was dog friendly and were allowed to have our lovely dog with us in our bedroom. Free parking right outside the hotel was a bonus. Tea and coffee making facilities were topped up whenever we asked.

Le Strange Arms location, is second to none-A beautiful setting, overlooking the coast of old Hunstanton, a few minutes walk from the fabulous beach. We enjoyed a comfortable stay. As it was a late booking, at the start of the school holidays, we had the last available room & were happy with a twin bedded room on the first floor, overlooking the car park of the craft centre opposite. Our room was quiet & had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

Caught in time. Typical traditional seaside hotel. Decor was acceptable. Rooms clean and comfortable kept upto date with facilities and needs.Beds comfortable. Food was well prepared and reasonably priced, heating and hot water readily available...staff we met were all polite and freindly. Overall very good. We love the timeless atmosphere of Hunstanton. Walking along the prom at 7.30 am was so very peaceful. Everyone should try it...
