I was not visiting Newtonmore, but climbing.

I was not visiting Newtonmore, but climbing. Newtonmore is a nice village with some good hotel restaurants and bars and is in a lovely setting in the hills. its probably a good centre for a touring holiday, and there are quite a few good places easily reached from here.

Electric car charger 5 minutes walk away. Co-op close by has most things needed. Easy access to the hills just behind the cabin. Easy and big hill days out possible. Red squirrels and dear visit the cabin.

Good little tourist information shop. Maps of walks useful.

Good little tourist information shop. Maps of walks useful. Local bus to Kincraig to see the Wildlife Centre. Highland Folk Museum on the outskirts is well worth a visit. The Wild Flower Cafe very good. Glen Hotel good for dinner but expensive. Worth doing the Wild Cat Trail.

We ate our evening mealat the Balavil Hotel, very good indeed, loads of choice, but very busy due to 2 coach parties. Plenty of car parking space. But definitely need to reserve a table for dinner. Great menu, something for everyone.

Quiet town with just Co-op.

Quiet town with just Co-op. Has a few hotels, lovely golf course which is why we were there. Stunning Letterbox restaurant and great cafe The Grill. Plenty of walks round and about. Just the one street with plenty on it. Near to Aviemore, Kincraig Wildlife Park. Highland Folk Museum is on the outskirt of the village.

We travelled with our dog and felt very welcome. There is even a doggy friendly restaurant. The outside area is lovely and clean. We were in a room just off the main hotel it was a great size and very clean. The staff were super friendly always smiling, and even have a family of ducks and ducklings paying a daily visit to them. Good choice of food available, prices the same as surrounding places. The walks and scenery around the hotel are amazing and wish we had more time to explore them. Also plenty cafes, food places near by.

We spent a wonderful week at this accommodation with our family. The location served as a great starting point to explore the stunning Highlands. We took the opportunity to visit local sights, such as museums, which offered rich insights into the area’s culture and history. Additionally, we indulged in exciting outdoor activities like white water rafting, making it a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Overall, the accommodation was ideal for both sightseeing and enjoying nearby recreational options

The design and condition of the room were outstanding: it felt like a luxurious, boutique hotel. Everything was pristine and thoughtfully arranged, from the clean, comfortable bed to the stylish furnishings. The shared sitting room was especially inviting, with superb décor that made it feel like a cosy, elegant retreat. The self check-in and check-out process was seamless and efficient, which added to the overall ease of the stay.
