Patterdale is stunning, beautiful scenery and great walks...

Patterdale is stunning, beautiful scenery and great walks right from the start. Not too far to walk to Glenridding, about 15 - 20 mins where you'll find a couple of shops, cafes and pubs. A nice place to sit after a walk is the In on the lake where non residents can use the hotel for a drink or something to eat. You can also get the steamers from Glenridding and walk / sit by the lake. There is a bus that runs from patterdale too. The White lion pub in Patterdale is a great place for a drink and dinner, great food and cosy atmosphere.

Great Location. The Brotherswater Inn owner and his hard-working staff ensured we had a very pleasant stay. Room was clean, warm & quiet. Breakfast & evening meals were of a good quality.

Great hotel with friendly hardworking staff.

Great hotel with friendly hardworking staff. Ideal base for walking surrounding fells, and close enough to Glenridding with ulswater also a short walk away. When here you feel like you have escaped the crowds and can relax, definitely be coming again.

Patterdale sits at the rugged end of Ullswater, and offers access to Helvellyn, High Street, and other peaks of truly astonishing beauty. The hiking in this part of the Lakes is strenuous and at times difficult, so visitors should be prepared for that. But the views are worth every step. Patterdale itself is quite small, with a hotel, a pub, and then the Brotherswater Inn a little up the road. You'll need time to get around and time for meals and drinks. It's not a place to move fast, but it is a perfect place to stop and breathe. Plan your hikes carefully, consult with local staff, and check the weather.

It’s truly a breathtaking stunning location .

It’s truly a breathtaking stunning location . The hills and mountains are superb , the air so fresh. It’s serine and relaxing, highly recommended to restore your batteries so to speak . Wonderful to step outside the hotel and walk around the edge of the lake and take in the views. One or two shops up the rd at Glenridding cafe’s and restaurants. Boats for hire on the lake .

Check in experience was perfect, limited parking but an overflow car park opposite the hotel, a nice bar and plenty of space to relax, dinner was a limited menu which I liked as too much choice is often a pain and the service was fast, Breakfast was perfect and self service, plenty of options and staff very pleasant. Great location short walk from Glenridding with options and things to do, including the Ullswater Steamer

Very warm welcome by all three receptionists, in particular by Lydia. She told us about the hotel, its facilities and was knowledgeable of the area. Our room was cosy and warm. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of food to choose from. Helpful bar and breakfast staff too.
