We love shanklin,, been going all my life.

We love shanklin,, been going all my life. The hotel was the best. Beautiful to look at and very comfortable to stay in, immaculately cleaned. Staff were very helpful, respectful and happy. Fantastic value for money and the best part was the breakfasts, especially the poached eggs, cooked perfectly.

Shanklin was a delightful place to walk around and enjoyed our walk along the seafront to Sanddown. Particularly enjoyed the bus and coach museum near Ryde and the Steam Train. We used the local buses, which were very reliable/

Shanklin esplanade is clean and offers a nice beach and places to stop off for food and drink. Old Shanklin has some pretty properties and great places to eat. A visit to Fishermans Cottage on the beach is a must for food and sunsets. In town, we ate well at Pendletons and The Black Cat. Shanklin is a great centre for visiting anywhere on the island.

Shanklin is fairly compact but basically in 2 parts on 2 levels, the Esplanade (prom) and the Old Village/Town Centre High Street. There are plenty of places to eat in both areas. Accessing the Esplanade can be done by car/bus/on foot. There is plenty of parking on the Esplanade if you drive down.

We stayed for one night as we were attending the Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend but wish we'd been able to stay for longer. The staff were incredibly friendly and our room was really big with a stunning sea view. The exceptional food at this hotel is made fresh and includes meals such as vegan pancakes for breakfast and biryani for dinner. The bar stays open late and there is a pool table in the bar area. The location is superb being a short walk from the seafront and Shanklin town.

Beautiful seafront location. Staff really friendly and helpful. The evening food was tasty and great value. Good choice on the breakfast menu. The coffee is excellent. Loved going to sleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach. Room was very clean, fresh and bright. Described as a budget room, excellent value. Location is great for exploring Shanklin old and new. We didn't need parking but plenty around (payable to IOW council.)

The hotel is in a great location if you want to walk into the Old Village or to the beach. It has two great pools and a lovely outdoor seating area with beautiful views. Reception and cleaning staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was a good size and had the expected facilities. The bar tender made some great cocktails and mocktails and really made the effort to make them perfect.

Warm welcome when we arrived. We were allowed to use the car park even though we arrived earlier than planned. Easy to walk to both the regular town of Shanklin and the 'Old Village', also the sea front. There was a good choice at breakfast and they also had milk alternatives. Our room faced the church and on Wednesday evening we were treated to bell ringing practice which was not a problem.
