It is winter time as we visited and a bit cold but we loved...

It is winter time as we visited and a bit cold but we loved Stonehaven. the Ship Inn on the harbour is a good place to eat and drink and Carrons fish and chips are excellent and Stonehaven is easy to get around as it is flat so good for people who are a bit infirm or disabled. In the summer which we plan to visit next year it would be better as you could do more activities as you can walk all along the bay and then there's a boardwalk round to the harbour and at the other end of the bay near the beach is a fantastic ice cream shop

Lots to see and do in Stonehaven and if you like walking,...

Lots to see and do in Stonehaven and if you like walking, photography and the sea this is a great place to visit. Also lots of historical places to visit. The Old Harbour is just beautiful in all weather. Interesting Tolbooth Museum with very friendly and helpful volunteers, great old pubs and amazing food and beers.

Stonehaven is the cutest little town.

Stonehaven is the cutest little town. The best thing about it is the outdoor swimming pool. There are not many of these around and it's just a dream. The water is heated to something like 35C in the summer. The water is fed from the sea and it is right at the beach. I would go to Stonehaven for that alone. The harbour is gorgeous and in the summer it's a hive of activity from sailing to paddle boarding. There's even saunas for the cold water swimmers. Also Dunnotar castle is in Stonehaven. It's an incredible place and not to be missed. Lastly, the fish and chips is just the best in Stonehaven. It's a lovely stop off for a weekend in Scotland.

Stonehaven is a quaint little town by the sea.

Stonehaven is a quaint little town by the sea. Dunnottar Castle is the superstar here! There are plenty of options for dining and some lively pubs. Much of the town is walkable so it’s easy to get around. We only stayed for two nights but could have stayed longer. A short drive took us into a much larger town of Aberdeen. We explored Old Aberdeen with its university and history. Highly recommend Stonehaven.

Stonehaven is a lovely little town with lots of pubs and...

Stonehaven is a lovely little town with lots of pubs and cafe in which the staff are friendly and welcoming. There is lots to do for both adults and children. The walk along the front is fantastic and guaranteed to clear the head. A visit to Dunnottar Castle is also a must!

We loved the quaint shops the market place to people watch . The beach front walks discovering the harbour. I personally found it for a woman alone walking in the early morning s very relaxing dog walkers were friendly and l enjoyed my pace and looking at architecture and the amount of cafe s and entertainment fir kids and adults .

There is no breakfast but close is a hotel that serves one. We liked that its close to the coast and the „Main town“. The seaguls are very noisy the whole night, but its for shure not the hotels fault. In the morning we woke up because of loud delivery trucks. We liked that there is free parking in the whole area. Its a lovely small town and a well cleaned hotel.

The location is amazing, with a view of the harbour and cliffs from the living room windows. It's only a short walk into the centre of town and not much further to a major supermarket. Also the accommodation is a minute away from the board walk along the bay. We had excellent food at the Ship Inn, which is on the harbour, literally yards from our front door.

Lovely, cozy cottage. Right by the harbour, with some views. Very central, and on walk to castle. Beds were the most comfy we had tried. Nice to have a separate kitchen, dining room and lounge. 20 mins walk from train station. Well-stocked Co-op, farm foods and tesco express in town. Ate twice at the Marine hotel. Good food and amazing views

I really liked the fabulous location, gorgeous views, ability for my kids to have horse riding lessons and hacks; closeness to Stonehaven and to Dunnottar Castle; Netflix on TV; lovely patio area next to the caravan. There were only two caravans, so it felt very cosy and personal to be there. The staff was always friendly and happy to help.

A really lovely hotel. Our room looked over the harbour and was very comfy. The hotel was a buzz each evening with visitors and locals gathering. The food at the restaurant was nice. A lovely town to walk around and nice and quiet in the evening.
