Very clean, cosy, and comfy. Stayed here to go visit the Fairy Glen and then hike the Old Man of Storr. Both were perfectly comfortable either on foot or with public transport. The house is less than 5 minutes from the bus stop and the harbour which is ideal if you, like me, need to catch a ferry in the morning.

Check-in was super easy and completely contactless, which made everything smooth and hassle-free. The room is a bit small, but it was just nice and comfortable for the three of us. Cooking utensils were complete, so we could prepare our own meals without any issue — very convenient! Despite the cold weather outside, the room stayed warm and cozy. Everything was good overall, and having parking right in front of the unit was a big plus. Highly recommended for a simple and comfortable stay!

It was in a great location, it was clean and comfortable. It was a little dated but that really didnt matter to us. The hosts had great communication, and it had everything we needed and we will most likely be booking this again next year.

Loved that it was out in the country in such a windy setting . In the top bedroom and was furnished to a high standard . Was a delight to stay here and hosts were extremely welcoming. The lodge was absolutely beautiful and the set meal in the evening was amazing. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Great parking as well .

We had a magical stay at Greshornish house, we could not have asked for more. Incredibely warm welcome, with local sweets and personal recommendations to do in Skye by the owners. This welcoming family-run hotel had everything we needed, they thought about everything that a guest would ever need. Perfect breakfast was included in the price, where they made sure to take care and be prepared for our allergies. The lounge area was cosy with a fireplace and it had a large snooker table as well, the diner was beautiful. Everything high quality and carefully chosen in the hotel. Amazing experience for a family-run hotel(: Would recommend for anyone!

We stayed at the caravan purely to facilitate an early morning ferry to Harris. We had fish and chips from the local takeaway which were very overpriced for what they were. They’re clearly taking advantage!

A close drive to Quiraing and The Storr.

A close drive to Quiraing and The Storr. We hiked both on the same day as well as touring the Skye Museum of island life. There is not much to the town, but we had great meals at the Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel. The views are lovely.

I love Uig.

I love Uig. The locals were all so friendly and a wealth of information. It was easy to get around the island by car from Uig, and convienently close to the ferry (we caught it from Uig to Isle of Lewis).

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to...

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to North Uist and then again when we returned from Harris. There are a couple of options for food- The Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel, but they need to be booked in advance, then a cafe and a bar which does takeout food at the harbour. The brewery has a shop there, there’s a pottery and a petrol station and a small shop for food. One interesting place we found nearby was the Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir and the cemetery next door which had a monument to Flora Macdonald and is the burial place of fashion designer Alexander McQueen!

Rather small village with only a few restaurants and you need to make reservations if you want to have dinner. If not, you can drive to Portree, which is a 20 minute drive. Uig is nicely situated for visiting the northern part of the island of Skye.

Uig is well-located as a base for exploring the Trotternish...

Uig is well-located as a base for exploring the Trotternish peninsula. Ferries to Harris depart from there several times a day. Since Skye isn't particularly large, the rest of the island is also easily accessible from Uig. There's at least a small grocery store, a pub, and restaurants. Overall, we were well catered for there during our four-day stay on Skye.

Good sized single room with comfortable bed and a good shower. Great view from the lounge. Well located for North Skye attractions although Uig itself is not the most attractive place (mainly a ferry terminal!). The Bakur Bar and Restaurant at the pier did an excellent curry
