Welcoming reception, lovely clean room, just refurbished (a lot of Ikea!), great shower, friendly staff, lovely well-kept gardens. Good varied breakfast each day. Very handy for birdwatching locally and also walks along the sandy beach in either direction to Kololi or Cape Point.

This is a beautiful place to relax for a few days. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are big and nicely furnished. The provided Moskito Net over the bed gives added comfort, also I did not see any. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Gambia.

I love ❤️ everything about the property. The location, size of the apartment, amenities within the apartment, room size, all the very friendly and accommodating staff who are always ready to please. The impeccable service received right from the checking in to checking out. The manager Mr Aziz was very patient and never lost composure throughout when dealing with clients.

The hotel is absolutely incredible - it far exceeded my expectations. The owner has created a unique environment where you can totally relax and enjoy the artistic, bohemian atmosphere he has created. Truly remarkable. The staff were superb and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless and everything is available you could think of. I think the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in and you felt like a queen in the four-poster with a step to get in and out of, plus mosquito netting around (although no mosquitoes at all). Breakfast was like a banquet eaten outside on the rooftop and exceeded any expectation - a bargain for 10 Euros. Anything can be arranged - a driver to take you out on a day-trip and back to the airport. This really was the icing on the cake for my first time trip to the Gambia and I'm already looking to book a return trip. Fabulous for anyone who enjoys creativity and having an authentic experience.

Sunset Beach is one of the best hotels in Gambia I have ever seen. Thank´s a lot of Mrs. Mane, the hotel manager and the friendly stuff. I will recommend this hotel . It´s a real nice and quiet hotel, a fantastic pool near the beach, a high quality restaurant, it has a nice terasse with view to the river and sea and we enjoyed our breakfast and good dinner there. The lodges are comfortable with ensuite bathroom and shower. There isn't AC but was plenty comfortable enough with a ceiling fan. There is hot running water in the room when you need to have a warm shower although most of the time I took a cool shower. I moved here from one of the 'Hotel Castles by the Sea' that were overcrowded and overpriced for the standard of accommodation there. Kotu Island lodge presents a friendly, personal and quiet atmosphere. You can chat with Terry, the owner who is a very nice man. True Gent! Its only a few minutes walk to the beach and you get the great atmosphere of living in amongst the community. I wholly recommend a stay here. Thak you Terry. You are a great host.

The hotel staff ( kitchen, ground staff, reception ,house keeing are the back bone of this place they are all very polite, curtious, funny engaging and ready to help they are the best of the best and a real credit to palm beach without them I can't say much for this place.
