Super welcoming and helpful hosts who wanted to ensure their guests had the best experience. Small but perfectly equipped studio size apartment for two, with everything needed for overnight or short self catering stay, all modern conveniences and supersize very comfy bed on the upper floor. Size and decor in country cottage style. Apartments situated in courtyard around pool. Quiet and peaceful location. Superb breakfast provided on patio for additional charge. Lovely location in small steep hillside historical town with plenty of tavernas shops and small supermarkets close to main square. Situated a short drive from Heraklion and Knossos and in pretty countryside. We only booked a night but really wished we could have stayed for longer. Strongly recommended.

Eliathos Residence is in a beautiful location, on the edge of the lovely village of Archanes. The gardens are immaculate, the accommodation looks like 4 houses but each is cleverly split into 3 units. Everything is immaculately clean. The staff are friendly, extremely accommodating and helpful. The pool is perfectly cool and has fabulous views over the olive groves and valley. We had a really special 2 weeks here and would definitely recommend it. We found a huge variety of beaches within a 20 mins - 1 hour drive, heading West and East along the coast. Historic sites, museums, tavernas and shops were also within easy reach.

We came for a very short stay and enjoyed every moment at Arcasa villas. The villa was stunning, new with beautifully modern design, perfectly equipped, very clean and shows great attention to detail. It’s a pity we didn’t have time to use the pool, but there’s no doubt we’ll come back in the future.

Archanes is located right in the middle of nowhere.

Archanes is located right in the middle of nowhere. Okay, it's quite close to Heraklion and the Palace of Knossos. But if you want to go to the beaches, you have a choice between terribly crowded beaches around Heraklion, and God forbid, Malia... probably the most disgustingly overcrowded beach we've ever seen, or the beaches on the south of the island, which are accessible through winding mountain roads that can be quite challenging to navigate with a weak engine, like the Peugeot 108 we rented. The best option is the beaches to the west of Matala, which are a bit over an hour away via Road 97 through Heraklion, leading to Kommos Beach just west of Matala. Matala, although charming, is terribly crowded, while Kommos offers a wide expanse of pebbles with an incredible stereo effect: the sound of waves and the "singing" of cicadas. So you can spend a day at Kommos Beach, having quite a spacious area around you and only the sounds of nature, and in the evening, you can go to Matala for dinner, enjoying a charming but not as spectacular as the Polish Baltic Sea sunsets.

Archanes is a beautiful village not far from Iraklion.

Archanes is a beautiful village not far from Iraklion. It has great restaurants, beautiful scenery a well curated archaeological museum and many nearby attractions including Knossos. We stay here each time we come to Crete as it is a really relaxed Cretan village. It is accessible by car and bus from Iraklion. Narrow laneways and hilly terrain make it a walker’s dream location.

Such a lovely property - characterful, clean and comfortable. Wished we had been there in the summer so we could have enjoyed the pool. Staff very helpful. Excellent breakfast. Great restaurants in the village. We ate i Agora, which we loved. Fantastic food, excellent wine (made by the owners) and extremely good value for money. Can't recommend highly enough.

Beautiful spacious apartment in a small village very close to Heraklion. You need a car to stay in this place. The breakfast is very good. For the rest Katalagari village has 3 very nice tavernes which you can reach by foot. A sweet small authentic village. Close by is the bigger village of Archanes but we found it a little challenging to go their by night if you take the small mountain roads, but ofcourse this is personal.

The Kitchen was new, modern and well equipped with popular brands. This was the best place in the entire house. Also the house was spacious and was split in 2 levels with picturesque furniture of local traditional design. The house is "hidden" few minutes walk from Archanes center, with a garden surrounding next to a church. It has 2 external balconies one in each floor.

This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful town. We stayed here to visit Knossos which is nearby, but the visit to Archanes turned out to be the highlight! The rooms are lovely and the restoration of this old house has been carried out with great care. The owner Eleni is lovely and helpful and creates a friendly atmosphere at the hotel. Don’t hesitate to visit!

The villa and area is wonderful. Beautiful, calm, and anchored in history. Close to Archanes, which has a variety of restaurants, and there are plenty of things to do in the close vicinity. The hospitality of the host was truly impeccable! In short, we had a perfect holiday.
