The room was exceptional, it was like a 5-star hotel room really, the spa-facilities were really nice and I had a very relaxing time doing massage, hammam, jacuzzi etc. The breakfast had a variety of delicacies, home-made jams and lots of other goodies, stuff was super friendly and helpful. Everything was so perfect!

The staff was so accommodating and kind, they made the experience just so so comfortable and cozy. The hotel is well maintained, the beds are comfortable, everything was clean and the sea view is completely worth it. The breakfast was generous and traditional.

This is a family run hotel with all the basic facilities you would expect for its rating. It is kept very clean. The hotel is a short walking distance from the thermal rock pools and beach which make the area so famous. The rooms are of reasonable size and have a balcony with two chairs and a table. They also have a refrigerator for your use (very useful with the hot temperatures!). There is a basin, toilet and shower in the bathroom. The rooms are airconditioned. The beds are comfortable. Breakfasts are very good with freshly made toasties, rusks, butter, jams, honey, eggs, fruit juice, cake, Greek yogurt, fruit, tea and coffee. What is really exceptional is how helpful the family is with all your inquiries about places to go to, arranging taxis etc. They bend over backwards to accomodate your wishes to make your stay very pleasant. We were a party of 5 very well travelled people and we can say that this host family was exceptional! There was absolutely nothing that they could not help with. Thank you very much Ivana, Costas, Rania, Simon and Felitsa! Their staff are very friendly also...

Had an amazing stay at this lovely hotel. The room was so nice and clean. The spa was prefect and well worth using. We met the owner who was a really nice guy. Adriana who was running around doing every and even found time to chat with my wife. She was lovely and also very friendly. And we met one also meet one other staff member who was so friendly and help full.

The staff and the owners were very nice, the studio was clean and the food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing. We enjoyed the fish and the fruit. For the price it met all expectations. We had a good time.

The city is one thing.

The city is one thing. Effis Haus is a completely different ball game. The service is excellent, the stay is fantastic. The location trumps everything. The owner is a woman who knows how to run this business. If I have the opportunity, I will definitely stay there again.

Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful place for a truly peaceful...

Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful place for a truly peaceful holiday. Edipsos, which is nearby, offers possibilities for afternoon/evening outings, as does the coastline up to Kavos and Loutra Gialtrona which have some nice beaches, one or two with beach bars.

To be honest, the place is nothing special.

To be honest, the place is nothing special. However, for peace and quiet it is fine. Porto Pefko beach is very beautiful, which is 10 minutes by car from Agios Nikolaos. It has a sandy beach for children. The other beaches have a lot of pebbles. You need sandals to enter. However, they are very clean, like crystal and always windless.
