We had the most wonderful stay at La Isla Dulce- the best hostel we have ever stayed at. The owners, Daria and Douglas, made us feel right at home from the beginning. The food prepared by Daria and the local women was delicious and made with a lot of love. Douglas went out of his way to organize boat and bus transfer back to Guatemala City for us. And the house we stayed in was breathtaking- beautifully designed, with gorgeous furniture, amazing bed, and a beautiful view of the lake. I sincerely hope we can come back and visit again.

Very comfortable, clean hotel with fabulous outside restaurant. Views are wonderful. Stuart and his staff are so welcoming and friendly. Stuart gave us lots of info on 7 Alters walk, helped us go kayaking and arranged our onward transfer. Being a guest here meant we could also use the loveliest swimming pool at a nearby hotel Highly recommend

Casa rosada is amazing! I loved the chill vibe, the river just there you can sit on the dock or lay down on a hammock.. the food is amazing! The staff is so polite and easy going! I really enjoyed my time here and I would for sure come back! A special thanks for the owner of the hostel who is a very nice man! He told me about the history of La buga, took us to see the sunset on the river! Have us tips! SUCH AN AMAZING TIME! thanks so much!

The best reason for staying here is the manager, Giovanni. He is a bilingual jewel. Great with arranging trips up the Rio Dulce but even more describing the history of the area.

Casa Maya is wonderful. the family are very kind and hospitable. rooms were comfortable and clean, meals were delicious, and it was nice to enjoy dinner and breakfast with the other guests. Highly recommend! Muchas gracias Martha y tu familia!

Julio was lovely and the place is as shown. A lovely basic homestay in the middle of nowhere. We were basically the only people staying when we came which was lovely but I can imagine it could feel crowded if it was busy. There's a small shop 2 mins walk through the jungle where you can buy staples but only occasionally has fruit/veg. You're in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do apart from admiring the beauty around you, perfect for what we wanted but don't expect lots to do! Can go swimming in the river.
