Not for everyone. Don't go there if you like noise, night clubs, loud music and so, If you look for calm and silent place - it might be your golden target. We love that place - both from the sea side (as skipper) and land (as tourists). We will be there back again if only we can.

First trip to Croatia, and glad we chose Hvar Island. Stayed walking distance outside Stari Grad, picked location as quieter than Hvar town. In hind sight would stay first few days in Stari Grad and finish stay in Hvar town to be closer to port. Both Stari Grad and Hvar town have beautiful architecture and well worth a trip in the shoulder months

Looking nice, but strange that after 23h everything is...

Looking nice, but strange that after 23h everything is sleepy....restaurants and caffes are closed after 23h, and shop is working till midnight. No fun at all in the evening, but nice beaches and pine trees around. Restaurants in general are disappointment, overprized, with low quality of food.

A wonderfully walkable and friendly place, with a rich history and vibrant atmosphere. At any given time there are small vessels moored from around the world, alongside the picturesque wharf lined with outdoor cafes and gelatories. Wandering through the historic centre at blue hour is a memory we will never forget.

Good location as a base.

Good location as a base. All the great beaches are closer to Stari grad. City of Hvar is definitely the nicest but cities like Jelsa, Vrboska and ofc Stari grad are having their own charm. Speaking of restaurants in Stari hrad, I would recommend Barba Luka. One of the greatest fish meals I had so far...and staff is excellent. Prices are higher but restaurant is also on higher level than others.

It's quiet but still full of action.

It's quiet but still full of action. A lot of restaurants with different dishes and different kind of music. Some even with live musicians. There is a great plaza in the city covered with micro-blazes that shoot tiny drops of water producing refreshing fog. Kids loved it. Big sidewalk along the sea allows for great night walks. The city beach is fairly nice, clean water and normally crowded. Great vacation for family with kids. Perhaps not so good for partygoers.

Beautiful place. Perfect location. Very sweet host. Highly recommend. The apartment is charming and filled with character. This was our favorite place we stayed in Croatia! The host was available for everything we needed and gave us essential information to understand the island and Stari Grad. Even shared a bottle of his family’s wine!

Hosts were amazing. Everything that we asked (before and during our stay), was answered/solved in less than a minute. Fantastic ! Apartment is new and it has everything you need. Peacefull location (in Old town - Stari grad). Much better than to book in city of Hvar. All the great beaches are closer to Old town.

Loved the location with balcony overlooking the little harbour. Stari Grad is so pretty, excellent restaurants, quieter than Hvar town. Apartment was spotless and very comfortable. Easy regular local bus to Hvar town and other locations around the island to explore.
