FAQs about hotels in Kuta

Bali Party Capital

One of the first Bali resorts, Kuta has a long, sandy beach and great nightlife - reasons why it’s one of Indonesia’s top tourist spots.

Another popular draw is Kuta surfing. From gentle rollers to lefthanders, the waves are great for all abilities. Several shops in town sell big-brand surf gear at knockdown prices, while other shopping options include Kuta Square, Discovery Mall and Bali Mall Galleria.

There’s also no shortage of places to eat. Street vendors offer local fare, while international cuisine is served in restaurants of the Kuta hotels on Booking.com. When the sun goes down, the heat goes up, as the bars and clubs in party zone Jalan Legian kick into life. For something more refined, the bars by Kuta Beach waterfont are a great spot to watch the sunset with a refreshing cocktail.

If you’re up early enough to see the Sanur Beach sunrise, you might get to see locals throwing traditional offerings into the sea. Spirituality is a big part of Balinese life and there are yoga and meditation classes, not to mention spas to revive the senses.

The gateway to southern Bali, Denpasar Airport is right on the edge of the town, so it won’t be long before you can stretch out and soak up the sun.

Kuta is very busy, traffic is hectic, but there is plenty to see and do. Shopping is good, with plenty of bargains and hotels are very good. It was easy to get a taxi to travel around and we found the best driver, BAGUS, who took us on a 12 hour day tour of middle Bali (Ubud and surrounds) for only $50 AUD.

The beaches are filthy. The water is a cesspool of waste.

The beaches are filthy. The water is a cesspool of waste. I appreciate the little island might not have the funds or resources to repair damage. However, with so many options for travellers Bali especially Kuta and Legian are definitely not beach holidays. The government needs to inject money because it’s the people that are suffering from the lack of tourism.

Sadly Kuta has become it's own worst enemy ..

Sadly Kuta has become it's own worst enemy ..It started as an outstanding place for Australians in particular to visit. Genuine Indonesian to its core. Now..:it is a caricature of itself..: I understand totally, their need to take advantage, financially of tourism. But it's an awful spot...impossible to walk anywhere 'unmolested' to buy something you don't need ,etc. IF you want a good 'party' spot..Kuta's your place. For mine..that's the only reason anyone would go/stay there. Plenty of other good beaches right around Bali..I suspect pollution on many is a problem. Plus traffic congestion in Kuta ..: common complaint but just one MORE thing which has made Kuta as bad an example as is possible of a once great place to STAY become one to avoid at all costs. ..brutal. Impossible (?) to widen the streets ?! For sure, probably. Personally..: I don't care ..: if/when return to Bali..: would 'transit' in Kuta. Overall the people are outstanding. Wonderful/beaut people. The grab for money's been Kuta's downfall.

Kuta is a Gemini-city; there’s a yin and yang quality about it that I can totally appreciate. During the day is hot, sunny, the shops, stalls and mall are lively and brimming with singles and families. The beach is fun, the traffic is heavy, the restaurants are all tempting. Then, when night falls, after a soothing and even romantic interlude of a sunset by the beach, the city gets seductive with night clubs, bars and special services offered (close your eyes, kids, this next section’s for the grown and autonomous). There is a hedonistic air about Kuta at night that, while just as safe and playful, is quite candid and respectful. It says “I’ll take on a wild right, but only with your consent and comfort.” It’s alluring without being abrasive; debauchery without being sinister. I like Kuta. I see why people gravitate there. Go. Have an experience and enjoy what it has to offer, and do it mindfully so you can shameless tell the story.

We only stayed in Kuta for the night before our flight home.

We only stayed in Kuta for the night before our flight home. We did not like Kuta at all. Too busy. Didn't like the energy here. We spent most of our Bali trip in Ubud & Northern bali (the real bali), Kuta is not for us. Party Central. We would not stay here any longer than we needed to.

We love the hustle and bustle, but also enjoy the fact that we can get out and about easily. We loved the Irish pub and Greek taverna that we found this trip! Transport options are many so you just have to ask. Loads of shops, markets and food options to cater to every taste! We even like bartering with the various stall owners.!

Loved this hotel so much, really good aircon in the rooms the bathroom was layed out really well which I feel like we had issues with at other hotels. Security down stairs made us feel safe and well taken care of and staff went above and beyond. Breakfast had such a good variety too! would definitely stay here again when I’m in Bali next :)

As always, the food selection was good, the staff were very helpful, and the location suited us. The room and its appliances were good and worked well. What I miss from all or most hotels in Bali, the room mini fridge is always empty. It would be nice to go back to the days when the refrigerator had snacks and drinks

I do like this hotel I just feel it has some issues which come with alot of bali hotels. Food was nice. Very comfy bed apart from seeming a little short sheeted. Room has been renovated. Pool access room. Netflix. Pools are great.
