This is a super area to stay in for exploring Galway and...

This is a super area to stay in for exploring Galway and surrounding areas. The town has plenty of shops which would make a self catering stay a possibility if needed. We had a super meal in the Stone House Pizza bar at the old barracks….would highly recommend.

The breakfast n evening meal at Raheenwoods were superb,the bed was our only fault it was uncomfortable for us,definitely recommend a visit,don't take my word,visit the hotel,experience the hospitality you'll definitely be back,they have the loveliest staff I ever came across,it has a lovely leisure centre that I didn't get to visit,next time though I'll be in it😊

The castle was lovely and the heritage center was a lot of fun and very informative, there are some lovely restaurants, we ate in the old barracks food was delicious and we got some lovely cakes to take away. We stayed in the Raheen woods which is a very family friendly hotel. Athenry has a train station and is only a fifteen minutes trip to Galway city

I loved everything about the place only thing that needs looking at is the bar menu I had the chicken burger I asked was the chicken fresh I was so looking forward to fresh chicken breast burger Especially for the price I would expect fresh not frozen

The staff in all areas of the hotel were exceptional, warm and friendly, helpful and efficient. Best hotel experience we've had in a long time and we are avid travellers. The hotel was immaculate, modern with a warm welcoming feel. Food was excellent. Family friendly with plenty of activities onsite and locally and just a stones throw from Galway city .

We had a nice time here .

We had a nice time here . The heritage centre is worth a visit. For 5 euro you get to go on a tour and learn lots of the history of Athenry in a fun and interesting way ,you get to wear costumes and you get to do archery and a maze. Such a lovely experience. There's also a castle and an Abbey to visit . Great playground for children. The food in the restaurants and pubs was just gorgeous. The people were friendly and nice. Definitely will return again.

Very family oriented. Staff were super friendly, particularly at the reception and bar. Kids got a little goody bag and ice-cream on arrival. Breakfast was a great start to the day. Food in the bar was good quality, attested to by the amount of non hotel guests stopping in. Hotel in general was very clean as were the rooms. Walking distance to Athenry and a short to Galway.

This was a very low standard hotel. We had to enter and leave the bathroom and shower sideways it was so tiny. The breakfast was laid out covered in cling film, the orange juice was left over from another day, not fresh at all. There was no menu to choose from. The poached eggs we ordered were like bullets. One of my colleagues refused to eat in the premises.

The Lodge at the old barracks is an excellent place to stay with exceptional value for money. The facilities are great and the food truly amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. Situated close to all amenities it is located in the lovely town of Athenry. From here you are close to lots of great places to visit.

The hotel is lovely. Really nice areas to have a quiet read. The staff in all areas of the hotel were so helpful amd pleasant. We loved the pool and the breakfast was delicious. We had lunch in the hotel; a little pricey but beautiful food.
