Attractive town but limited facilities - no obvious public toilets and many of the store's ones were 'out of order', where available good - necessary if you have children or are getting on a bit. Beautiful park, fun all day pub eatery with a train inside, There is also a train service but not many trains - station facilities only available when a train was due. Diet very rich in meat.

If you do not drive Castlerea is easily accessible by train but local transport is challenging. We recommend Keene taxis. Best restaurants….Hesters and the Old Stone House….the center of Castlerea is about an easy 15 minute walk….

The bedroom was a good size and the ensuite bathroom was clean and a good size. As OAP's we would have liked a grab rail as support in the shower cubicle and also a shelf or similar for toiletries. Afraid of slipping on wet surfaces is an issue for OAP's. We liked the room we had but was disapointed we could not get a drink when we returned to the hotel at 12 30. even though there were people in the bar. Enjoyable breakfast and very friendly staff.

Staff were nice and did their best given the absolute state of the hotel they were representing. Food is good also, we stayed for dinner which was lovely and breakfast is made to order and was nice.

Very friendly hotel. Room was excellent. Had dinner, breakfast and lunch in the hotel. All meals were home cooked, tasty and served piping hot. Staff friendly and helpful.

The house is located just outside Castlerea with a beautiful garden and view. Rita made us feel very welcome and at home. Prepared a lovely Irish breakfast in the morning.
