This is a part of the country which I wouldn’t think of...
This is a part of the country which I wouldn’t think of exploring but I’m so glad I did. I was on my way to a wedding in Roscommon and we stayed in Longford which was within a half hour drive. It was lovely to be by the banks of the Shannon and I will certainly visit again. We ate in “The Purple Onion” and as we waited for our taxi to collect us the proprietor treated us to a nightcap on the house.Guest review byMaeveIreland

Lovely view of Mels Cathedral from the sitting and bedroom window. Beds really comfortable and the complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits were most welcome. The location is fantastic, everything was only a few minutes away, including the train, restaurants, cinema, park, shops. I am a carer and went with a sevice user for an overnight break away.
