Two real highlights that I will remember forvery long: There is a world class gym in the Bellavista complex and hotel guest can use it for free. Second is the excellent breakfast (ask whatever you want from Swiss real Bircher Müsli to double espresso orreal Latte Macchiato plus all the Indian dishes) also nice displayed and good service). Rooms are comparable to many other goodbusiness hotels. Friendly and efficient staff (Balyit, Alcshaj, ShiariJjasbir)

A beautiful hotel in a local area of Nayagaon/Chandighar. The owner was very kind and helpful. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The room is the perfect size with enough room to do yoga in the corner. It's located outside of Chandighar but close enough for a cheap radpido or tuktuk. Highly recommended!!!

Having been to Chandigarh previously and visited the rock garden, Lake Suchna etc.this trip was to visit sites associated with Baba Bandha Singh Bahadur. Manauli Fort and Fateh Burj memorial. It was disappointing to see the fort in a derelict state. The second day we went to see the memorial/ museum only to find it closed. These two sites are important to Sikhs and Punjab's history and should be supported better. The Elante shopping mall is heaven for shoppers with excellent facilities.

Chandigarh is well-planned, clean, and offers a lot of greenery with wide, well-maintained roads and very little traffic, which makes driving and moving around a pleasant experience. The city layout is organized and peaceful compared to other bustling metro cities. However, there are several drawbacks that impacted the overall experience. The city feels inactive early in the day — most places, including cafes and shops, open only after 11 AM, and everything starts shutting down before 10 PM, leaving very little to do in the evening or at night. One major issue is the cost of local transportation. Private taxis are significantly more expensive than in other Indian cities, making it inconvenient for tourists who want to explore the area. Despite the good roads, the city isn't budget-travel friendly. While there are a few nice places to visit, there aren’t many tourist attractions or food spots to explore, which can make your stay feel limited. The extremely hot weather also adds discomfort, especially during the daytime. Another downside was the attitude of the local people — many seemed rude or unhelpful, which took away from the hospitality one generally expects when traveling. Most services and food items were overpriced, with the exception of liquor, which was surprisingly affordable compared to other cities. Summary: Chandigarh is clean and peaceful with great roads and greenery, but lacks warmth, nightlife, variety in food and entertainment, and is not very tourist-friendly in terms of cost and attitude.

Very unfriendly staff.

Very unfriendly staff. Turned up and we couldn't even stay in the main hotel that we booked. My room was filled with mosquitoes and my friends room had a broken air conditioner. Most of the reviews left for this hotel are FAKE - they somehow managed to leave a fake review on my friend Ben's account. DONT STAY HERE

Chandigarh is a breeze for independent tourist, very spacious, clean and relaxed after Delhi and Jaipur. We don’t travel to shop, so the upmarket shops of Section 17 were a bit wasted on us, but we enjoyed the walks and the chai and the shakes :-) We came via Amritsar and spent time there at the Partition Museum - so were better aware of the back story of the creation of Chandigarh as a model city to provide a home for refugees from Lahore. The architecture and human story of the place is wonderful, and we enjoyed the gardens and lake areas too. But the stunner is the famous rock garden. Give it a half a day if you can.

Chandigarh is a planned city and therefore very different than other Indian cities. Since it's just recently built, there are no historic buildings to see. The highlights are the many beautiful gardens/parks, some buildings built by famous western architects and the malls for shopping. The city is quite small and empty compared to other cities in India, therefore one can comfortably go for walks and enjoy the greenery. In my opinion, it's a good place to relax, but there are not many interesting sights to visit... I think 1-2 days in Chandigarh are enough, and then one could head to the hilly areas (Shimla, Manali,...).

Nice city and wide roads.

Nice city and wide roads. With regard to India visibility is a fact and in Chandigarh I didn't notice much air pollution issues. If you are not an Indian use mobile translator then life will be much easier. It would be much nicer if they had clean roads.
