This is the perfect place to stay for rest and relaxation. We stayed in the beach facing suite which was spacious and comfortable with the most amazing view. The stand out here is the staff - in particular Maxon - who are really there to meet your every need, nothing is too much trouble for them. Food was prepared fresh every day as per your request and was all delicious. The property is on a big plot which is kept immaculate with a beautiful pool. It is located a little away from everything but transport can be arranged if you wish to go somewhere.

It's an amazing place. We really liked to stay here, super nice hosts. It's 200m from the beach, where you can find lots of great restaurants. The place has an AC in the rooms, and the rooms are quite big. The bed is comfy and huge. I'd definitely come back any time.

The house is beautiful and an oasis of peace in the busy Kerala countryside. The staff is great and you can see it’s a good place to work! The chef is super and we ate there every night. We had a lot of help from the staff to arrange things to do so everything went very smoothly.

This was probably our best stay in India. We arrived to a very clean room with AC. The location was perfect for relaxing on the beach (1 min walk). You can borrow a parasol and beach chairs. The area of the beach had basically no tourists, just a little beach restaurant. The town is full of very friendly people, this includes the hosts of the hotel. They were very friendly, flexible and accommodating. The food at the hotel was excellent and fairly priced. (I would also recommend Fisherman’s Cafe - especially their squid fry starter) Overall 11/10, would specifically go to Alleppey to stay here next time I’m in India.

I really felt like family with Pradeep and Seema! The food was really tasty and plenty, they always helped out with everything I needed, making sure my trip was comfortable, like if I was with family friends. The location is exceptional, literally a few steps from the sea! I really enjoyed the flowering garden, the sounds of the birds and the surrounding forest! WiFi worked great!

I would like to express my deep gratitude to Babu and his family for the warm welcome at the Babu Marari Homestay. From the first minutes of our stay, we were surrounded by attention and care. Good linen, clean and comfortable rooms.The three of us were together and rented two rooms next to each other.We will never forget the wonderful breakfasts and dinners on the large terrace. The helpfulness of the family when we arrived in the thunderstorm was quite a special moment to say the least . We couldn't make it out as the weather was so bad . They made us some food of their own. This was an amazing meal, we had had to take the recipe back with us ! The location is so close to the beach (5 min walk) and their garden was spectacular! Only wish we could achieve this in the uk . The room was exceptionally clean upon arrival with great facilities. We have had two weeks in kerala, this was the best home stay by far .

We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed much longer. The hosts are great people and the house is spotlessly clean.The place has a lovely ambience and only a couple of minutes walk from the beach. We had our evening meal with some other couples at the Beach house and again the food was fantastic and really well hosted. We would come back in a flash! This place is great value for money.

The beach is lovely, the sea warm, and the fishing boats a real picture. Well worth walking south where there is no development and wonderful peace.We ate every day at Ecstacy, a nearby cafe/restaurant which served ace freshly prepared juices and food with many smiles.

It's a beautiful and less crowded beach destination in India. Great people and has some wonderful accommodation from budget to luxury accommodation. Alleppey backwater and beach is just 10 km from Marari.

Very small sleepy village perfect for a remote escape. Unspoiled beach and nature with friendly inhabitants. A total escape. It is not a tourist spot but a quiet escape. The remoteness means little amenities like restaurants and shops. Come prepared with some snacks and supplies. A large resort hotel and some smaller ones, along with homestay, but little else for the independent traveller

Easy to get transport to other areas for more activity - close to backwater tours etc. Only limitation is perhaps lack of eating out options within walking area, best to have hotel with restaurant otherwise will need to travel by tuk tuk or taxi.

The resort was a little too far away from the beach and the beach had no chairs, shade or umbrellas making it very difficult to stay very long. The surrounding area was not good to stroll around. The massage treatments are a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away and are quite expensive for India £34. We have been paying £15 previously.

I was at much trouble due to the stay at Mararikulam due to booking at Spot On Sb Cruise, Aleppey (There is no such property). So I was to search for another property with the help of some Good Local peoples and by their efforts, I got a place to sleep.

The room was large, clean, with storage cupboards and drawers, located in a very quiet location, away from the main road and a short walk to a beautiful and empty beach. Get to the beach early in the morning and you can buy fresh fish from local fishermen. Mary was very friendly and welcoming. In addition to the inclusive breakfast, the dinner we requested one night was excellent and plentiful. Communication with Joseph from booking to checkout was smooth and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay at Marari Lois Homestay.

Perfect location, very close to the Marari beach. Quiet and serene. The stay is surrounded by greenery. Peaceful stay, with a very accommodating and helpful host. He always picked up the phone in case of any discomforts, also arranged a tuk tuk for us to go around. Mararikulam is non commercial and chilled out place. Don’t expect many restaurants nearby. The host prepares kerala style dinner , lunch on demand. Breakfast was good too. We travelled with 2 young kids and had a very happy and laid back stay.

Sebastian and his family took excellent care of us. The homestay is very convenient for the beach and the local small shops. Marari beach is just five minutes walk away, it’s very clean and quite quiet. We went to restaurants outside, but the food that Sebastian produced at very reasonable cost ensured that more often than not we ate at the homestay. If you tell him what food and drink you would like, he will get it for you . We had a fantastic time staying with Sebastian and the family.

This beautiful and relatively new hotel is a real treat, with many design features that make it very special. They reflect the thought Joseph has put into making a space that feels luxurious yet homely. The garden is lovely, the pool too, but it’s the staff who are the real stars, doing everything they can to ensure guests are relaxed and comfortable. The chef’s skills deserve a huge shout-out as do the beds. All in all, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Kerala.

Everything was fantastic. Staff were perfect and the facilities were stunning. We had called into the Flamingo for dinner one evening. We like it so much we cancelled our stay at a homestay and booked in at the Flamingo Boutique Hotel. The room was beautiful with an open air shower in the bathroom. And a beautifully presented room with canopy bed.
