The location is a good base for travellers doing the golden circle. They offer northern lights alert. Though we weren’t able to see it in our stay, I imagine the hotel would be a perfect place to see the northern lights.

Nice and clean room very comfortable great location for the northern lights Only downside to our stay was the shared kitchen when the only night we cooked for ourselves there wasn't any clean crockery as the dishwasher was stacked up and hadn't been put on cycle so had to was dishes before we could cook

The host was very friendly and the house was furnished and decorated very warmly and cozy. The kitchen had everything you need to cook a nice meal. The area was also very peaceful for a nice walk. There were enough parking spots.

Haukadur was easy to get around and the geyser is very...

Haukadur was easy to get around and the geyser is very regular and worth seeing. No long walks available at the site. Visitors centre was okay although light on info as to the geology of the site and how geysers work. Good cafeteria.

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the...

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.

The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The best part of this hotel is its location, which is very close to several must-see spots in this area of Iceland. I was also very lucky because, being in a rural area, I could see the Northern Lights from the hotel. Another strength of the hostel is its staff. They are very friendly and welcoming.

It is the perfect place to see the northern lights I wouldn’t go anywhere else for this purpose and the yurts are lovely, warm and cosy. Beata is the best person they have on their staff and their neighbours which also have a beautiful hotel with horse riding are so lovely and supportive.
