Hvitserkur ocean rock was a waste of time.
Hvitserkur ocean rock was a waste of time. The road to get there is bumpy and gravel. The viewing platform does not get you the close up picture you see online. The get the close up you have to climb down a cliff that is posted with danger signs (not meant for young children), and the tide has to be all the way out.
Kolugljufur canyon is pretty. We would have enjoyed hiking the trails in that area but didn't have time.

Good place to stay away from main road and city for calm and cozy atmosphere. This place is surrounded by lush green tress and guest house is a perfect place to stay. Tipin the dog at Guest house is perfect to play with kids and a dog is playing with kids, he is the attraction of all the stay at this place.

All good except having to chase up room code at our accommodation. What ever happened to front desk? As a former hotel operator this is just so cheap. Very sad that this is the way tourism has progressed.

Small town but it has everything you need.
Small town but it has everything you need. The harbour is nice and it was visited by seals, tonnes of birds and a whale during our visit. The restaurant is also good and has a supermarket. Seems like a good place to catch the northern lights.

Staying Eyri Seaside was awesome however, we were there on a Saturday night and there was only one place to eat and it didn’t open until 6:00 pm. It was good but, nothing else in town was open. The grocery store, the gas station, the liquor store were all closed. We found that kind of frustrating being that we had hoped to pick up a few items from the grocery store.

This was a good budget stay for us on our ring road tour.
This was a good budget stay for us on our ring road tour. The breakfast was amazing and the dinner menu was nice after a long day of driving.
Pay attention to the check in time- we arrived early and it looked abandoned but we got checked in and had a nice stay

this is the Christmas Eve, we had a car accident before arriving at Hvammstangi. These is few hotel or apartment available at that moment when we arrival. We searched booking and found this property, and luckily the owner replied our request very soon. However we had a little bit internet lag during that time, the information email came later. We kept talking through our phones and got the key into the room. This is an unforgettable experience and thank you for all the people who helped us during tough moments.

I've been on a 2 weeks tour with a bicycle and stayed here for a night.
Dinner and Breakfest in the restaurant has been quite good. I had a double-bed room for me (single traveller). There is a nearby natural hot pot (400m, Hellulaug). You are allowed to use the hotels towels and bathrobe also for that (thats what the staff told me).
For a single person the room has a good. The space next to the bed (aside) is perhaps a bit narrow, but for me it was okay.
Good WIFI in that remote area.

This guesthouse is really amazing. The kitchen is huge and have many equipments to cook without waiting ( 3 sinks, 5 hot plates). There is a coffee machine as well.
I definitelly recommand.
