The hotel is lovely, the nicest one we stayed in during our trip to Iceland. When we checked in the staff told us they had upgraded our room. Unfortunately there was a slight problem with this room but this was resolved quickly and within 10 minutes they had put us in another room. The staff were incredibly helpful and the hotel was beautiful, I definitely recommend.

Well equipped kitchens and spatious common/eating room. Enough shared bathrooms. Location good for us as a stop on a long journey from Selfoss to Vatnajökull; itself, it is in the middle of nowhere, but that perhaps helped us to enjoy even more the polar lights we saw in the evening. (And as a bonus, our room was next to a side entrance to the building.)

Iceland is a very expensive place to travel and this guest house was average price for Iceland but the quality of the rooms were low average. Our room had such a bad slope on it we had to sleep at the other end of the bed with our heads above our feet. The bathroom had a toilet in the middle of the room, you had to walk around it to get to the shower and even though the room came with breakfast included it was very poor quality.

The hostel is easily located. The cleanliness is top notch. Super easy to check-in. Parking is right in front of the main door. Pantry is fully equipped. Bathroom/shower is sufficient for both floors and squeaky clean. Just that the Quad room is abit small.

High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

There was a lot of noise.

There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.

Excellent in every way.

Excellent in every way. We loved the hotel and the surrounding area. The cabins were very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely return; it's a place of relaxation and tranquility.

The location is amazing. Reasonably close to a town but in a quiet, rural setting by a lake. The bungalows are adjacent to Hotel Laki and breakfast was served there. Our bungalow was one of the original ones built in 1973. It was cute, if a little tired looking on the outside but lovely and clean on the inside. Might be a little cramped if there were more than two in the one bedroom bungalow. The shower was great. The beds were a bit too soft for our comfort but the bed linen was so clean and lovely quality.

It was a pleasure staying at the property, easy to reach, and the host was very kind and helpful. Everything was brand new and spotlessly clean. The room was fully equipped with everything: kitchen, desk, fridge, bathroom, and a comfortable bed, all independent and well-furnished. In good weather, the large window offers a wonderful view of Iceland.

It was the best stay of our trip to Iceland! The location was great and quiet between the lava fields far from the town and you could also see the glacier! The house was perfect exactly like the photos and had everything we needed! We wish we could have stayed longer!

This is very spacious cottage so far in our stay in Iceland. Nice view at the sheep farm and nice spot to see northern lights when it is sunny and clear sky day. Lovely cottage with few units around.
