The beds were very comfortable. Complementary breakfast was very good with some vegtables and fruits and a good gluten free bread. Location is great. Just next to the town center. Receptionist was very nice. She loaned me an HDMI cable and made a resturant reservation. We got a room facing the street but the double windiws blocked the noise.

Cabins were so cozy. Do need to drive down F road to get to property but worth it. Host was great, very willing to share information about the area. A short 10 min hike from the cabin was an amazing waterfall.

Great property, so new we could smell the fresh paint! Room was cozy and very well designed with a window seat looking out to the hills and the horses. Bright, spacious and comfortable common room and incredibly well equipped shared kitchen. Hopefully guests will take care of it all so that it stays so beautiful. Loved the location midway between Gulfoss Falls and Geysir, 5 minutes from both. Highly recommended.

This cabin was a perfect escape into nature! Surrounded by peaceful, empty fields, we loved watching the migrating birds gather just outside. The silence and coziness made it so relaxing. The bed was super comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. But the best part was the hot tub – it was absolutely amazing to soak in it while the chilly air surrounded us. The most unique and wonderful stay that we had in Iceland! We stayed for 1 night and had real luck that it was available. The yurt is mega cozy, romantic, warm and comfortable. It has everything you might need (contrary to one might think when you see a "tent"). The hosts live nearby and are so welcoming and kind, we're ever so grateful. An absolute must-visit for couples!

We stayed in a cottage several km from Selfoss, but went into Selfoss to eat and do grocery shopping etc. The town was fine, but it's not a tourist attraction. The country itself is the attraction, and it is amazing. Selfoss is perfectly located to explore it all.

We loved everything in Selfoss.

We loved everything in Selfoss. It was a great decision pin this city for our accommodation. Not too far from either ways to reach the airport/Reykjavik or the most famous sightseeings. It was actually a better experience in comparison to Reykjavik. Somehow the main city felt to us so ordinary but Selfoss is a calmful and beautiful little city with full of helpful and smiley local people and amazing food and crafted beers. Special highlight for the Rösti Burgers, Fish of the days/Fish n chips and the Viking Beers. The crafted beers were sooo tasty and fresh which I just experienced in beer museums before. Bonus that the beach is just 10 min away by drive which was a great spot to chase the Northern Light.

Selfoss was a great location for us as we toured the southwestern coastal area and Thingvellir National Park. The 'New Old Town' is a wonderful destination while staying in Selfoss--great food choices, as well as a pub and a coffeeshop.

I read a lot of bad press about Selfoss online, as you enter...

I read a lot of bad press about Selfoss online, as you enter some of the commercial buildings are off-putting, but underneath is a beautiful village with a river, woods, perfect central location to complete all icelandic activities. The restaurant and food options have everything from fast food to fine dining. I have literally no idea why anyone would say something bad about it.

Small restaurant attached. Cleaning when required and not every day. Nice seating areas in communal spaces, with book on the table. Bins in the communal areas. Proper kettle for those warm drinks. The entry system is different, as main door and room door are number coded. I found this great as no worries about losing keys. There is plenty of parking on the main street and around the back.It is within easy reach of everything you need, shopping and food.

Just had a couple of days at this hotel and was more than happy overall with the standard. big comfortable room, very good breakfast, clean and tidy. location for traveling was very good onsite parking, close to quite a few restaurants etc. staff all very pleasant particularity the kitchen staff as i say a good breakfast selection. rooms quite no complaints at all. hoping to visit Selfoss again in the summer this would be my first choice.

We have rented a car at KEF Airport and planned a 5 days tour for the most interesting sightseeings. As city Selfoss is 50 km away about Reykjavik, so I decided not to cross the capital of Iceland every day as Selfoss is the optinal basis for daily excursions. Room is just 16 m2 so not too big but beautiful view to the river. Breakfest is expensive as generally everything in Iceland but 200 m from the Hotel there is a hipermarket...

Location is unusual with a 360 degree view from the top of a hill which is where the hotel is located. An exceptional view of this part of Iceland which is an ancient glacial plain, so not spectacular, but very characteristic. It would be exceptional if you were pursuing the Aurora Borealis. Dinner was a very high quality fixed menu with one alternative choice of main (fish or meat).
