We were there at the end of September so whilst most things were open, it wasn't too crowded. The weather was brilliant: 25 degrees during the day and although we had some rain, it wasn't cold and blue skies quickly followed. There are plenty of restaurants in Mondello and the beach is sandy and clean. A roomy and well-equipped villa with all the facilities you need, including WiFi, a kitchen, washing machine, air-con, There were also parasols and folding chairs, and beach towels. The beach was only 10 mins stroll away and this is where we spent most of our time due to semi-aquatic grandchildren!. Riccardo, who looks after the villa, was a really helpful and attentive host. Mondello has plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance - the ones we liked were Raphael, Nico, Le Rocce and Sariddu. The owner of Sariddu claimed to be a Liverpool supporter (like one of our number), but I suspect this depended on who he was talking to! Things to see - the Duomo in Monreale. You can park just south of it, and it is jaw-droppingly amazing. Asis the Chiesa del Gesu in Palermo. Very beautiful beach BUT 90% is occupied by umbrellas and beds to rent at 30€ per day for 2 persons....!!! There are beautiful houses to see but is only that.. there's gardage everywhere!! Honestly , ill never return to mondelo!! You can go for 1 or 2 days and you'll understand what im saying. But no more than that!! Dont spend your money there!! There are minor flaws, but not enough to give a review with less than 4,5 stars. Overall a great place, that shines in particular because of the owner Giulio. He was interested in helping you and making you feel at home everyday. The quality of the space is similar to a good 4 star hotel, but has a more personal charme.
