Our room was in a separate building with its own terrace. We sat outside after we arrived and enjoyed the beautiful view and our surroundings. There is a mini fridge in the room with an assortment of cold drinks to purchase at a low cost. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection to choose from. Overall an excellent place to stay.

This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. The villa is exquisitely furnished and very well maintained. The staff were most helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was an absolute treat. The location is great, as Barga (old town) is within easy walking distance. I would definitely stay here again if I were in the region. June would be a better month in order to be able to enjoy the pool.

We warmly recommend Il Cioccho hotels. We stayed at the Belveder hotel. It is located on the slope of a hill with a picturesque view on the valley where a small town of Barga is located. We are very grateful to the staff of the hotel (and personally to Ms Rosa Rita) who picked us up given the fact that the location was erroneously put on the maps.me map. For future guests: it is advisable to rent a car or pre-order a transfer if you arrive to the nearest train station. The breakfast were excellent and delicious. We would love to come back.

The long drive up the winding mountain road to Scillio is a paltry sum to pay for the treasure that awaits those willing to wander up. The beauty and authenticity of this small hill town is enough to make a grown man openly weep. The care that the residents of this small community have lavished on this meticulously maintained community of stone buildings is evident in every house, alleyway, doorway, garden, window, and terrace. The remarkable condition of the town as a whole allows one to focus on the beauty and elegance of the rustic details when you are not mesmerized by the breathtaking views. Only one restaurant, and very little English spoken. Breakfast was amazing.

The town is delightful... I invite you to visit the cathedral. Everything is served... supermarkets, bars, ATMs, excellent "Il Pozzo" restaurant.... Excellent location from which you can reach many beautiful medieval villages ❤️❤️

Spectacular location, a former privately owned monastery, and Luigi as a host who makes almost anything possible; excellent cuisine in the evenings, a great breakfast in the mornings, and then the peace and quiet – absolutely recommended! A more remote village with charm for travelers looking for a quiet stay in nature. The people were pleasant, there was no reason to feel like an unwelcome guest. It is necessary to take into account that it is not possible to move by car within the streets. There is a central parking lot in the place.

The small village north of the lake is worth a visit, as it's actually almost completely dry in late summer. Pieve Fosciana is also an excellent base for exploring the Garfagnana region, just a half-hour drive from almost everything.

Beautiful location with stunning views of mountains and valley below. Room was well heated and had small kitchenette with stove,, stocked with coffee and tea.Hosts were extremely gracious and accommodating, sharing advice on hiking paths that can be started from the hotel. Grocery store and Coop in Pieve Fosciana are right at the bottom of the winding 10 min drive down the hill (watch out for grazing sheep!). Highly recommend for an idyllic, peaceful stay.

As soon as we got out of the car, we fell under the spell of Sillico. we were even more excited when we saw the hotel. A place of total peace’ calmness and just bird sounds. the hotel is very nice and clean. the Hotel owners are very friendly and welcoming. Glad we were there!
