I think everyone should consider Treviso. It has so much to offer for a smaller city and can be used as an anchor to see many more things in the area. Venice is a 30 minute train ride. We instantly fell in love with this cozy little town. Close to Venice yet so different, Treviso charmed us with its canals, picturesque streets, historic center, and the vibrant atmosphere created by its young population. It truly stole our hearts. Everything in Treviso is within walking distance. The shops are plentiful. There’s lots of gorgeous little bars and restaurants and cafés. I could spend the whole year here just going into each & every one! There just was not enough time. The only thing I would say is that the Italian waiters could do with some coaching when it comes to being friendly to foreigners. We did notice that they pour smaller drinks for foreigners than they do for locals but if you keep drinking in their restaurant. They then give you more than your first glass!
