We liked everything! Location, area, atmosphere, breakfast. But the main advantage is the stuff! Thank you for your welcome, hospitality, professional approach, and kindness. They gave us better rooms, place for parking near the hotel, explanation. I travel a lot, so I can compare. One of the best or maybe the best stuff I have ever met! Thank you very very! Hope to be back.

The rooms were very clean, well equipped and beautiful. The hosts were nice to us, very well intentioned. You can park in the garden, 10 euro per day. The breakfast was very good, served in the garden, good food. :)

Our second time staying at the hotel Ancora. There is a wonderful art deco inspired elegance to the hotel, exemplified by the staff who complement the aesthetic with their manner and professionalism. It could be a model for the best boutique hotels to follow. The breakfast is superb by any standard, world class quality and a wonderful selection of food. The location is on the road next to Lake Maggiore (which is very convenient) and the staff will guide you with regard to parking options

Verbania is a really good base for a stay on Lake Maggiore.

Verbania is a really good base for a stay on Lake Maggiore. It has 2 parts - Intra where the main ports are, and Pallanza. There are lots of boats leaving and arriving every day at Intra, both passenger-only and ferries with cars, so very useful for exploring other parts of the lake. Intra has a nice sea front and an old town with little courtyards and cafes dotted all over it. The highlight of Pallanza is Villa Taranto, the botanic gardens. Well worth a visit.

Verbania Pallanza, especially its promenade is a great place to stay and visit Lago Maggiore. Great views over the lake and the mountains, lots of nice restaurants and bars, long promenade at the lake till Suna, less touristic than Stresa or Baveno.

Verbania is a vibrant community to the west of Lago Maggiore, with a rich history, beautiful classical Italian architecture, and amazing cuisine. There is easy access to the Alpine gateways and to the Borromean islands and Stressa, all being landmarks that go beyond and above expectations.

Pallanza is a lovely small town with a peaceful lake shore...

Pallanza is a lovely small town with a peaceful lake shore compared with other lakeside locations - the main road runs along the top of the town rather than along the lakeside so while there is some traffic, it's not too much.

Given there was a strike by ferry workers the day after we arrived, we did well to see Isola Madre and Isola Bella, the main island for tourists. However with more time we would have liked to see Isola Superiorre as well.

A good location next to Lake Maggiore a short walk from the hotel to the ferries. The options to visit other places and islands on the lake was very easy just getting the ferry. The market was very colourful and not that crowded in Pallanza.

It was a very good breakfast. The Day before your breakfast you can choose what you want to eat the next breakfast. It is always fresh and there is nothing spoiled. That is top. The personal is very kindly and helpfull. The hotel is also close to the center of Verbania and there is free parking. I will recommended this hotel very much.

This was a wonderful hotel, with a lovely atmosphere that felt like we had stepped back in time but with modern facilities. The location was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.
