This was the most amazing accommodation we had in our one month trip in Japan. No doubt just book it, it’s soooooo nice on the river the rooms are amazing the facilities are unbelievable and the food (we had breakfast and dinner) was super fresh and chef worthy. We had a wonderful stay at Guesthouse Okagesan! It was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. It was amazing to have the whole house to ourselves (great value for money) and there were a lot of thoughtful touches around the home including good heating, a coffee maker and snacks. Our host was fantastic and left us onigiri every morning. Would definitely stay again!

The staff were lovely and very helpful before and during our stay. The house is spacious and scrupulously clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the bath is worth the wait to fill with hot spring water. We enjoyed the free snacks and instant noodles for a no fuss dinner. The Kawayu Onsen bus stop is a few meters away, making transport easy. Soaking in the river hot springs is a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

The host is very responsive, replying messages promptly and she speaks very good English so we have zero issues for checking-in ! Alya the host completed the dual pilgrimage and I guess from there she understand the need of travellers. We love the place, feel like home after our long hours of hiking journey. The place is very very clean, bonus is they provide the laundry & drying machines, and provided some snacks for us to eat those are very sweet gestures.
