-Incredible staff who really come out of their way to help you out with anything -Fantastic mix of classic Japanese-style hotel room and a public area + a bar downstairs to meet other people or to just read a book -Location is also as perfect as it can get, 10 metres from the shuttle stop and the bus terminal, walking distance from Happo-One and Happo ”downtown”, 100 metres from the convenience store Our extempore trip to Hakuba would have not been the same without staying here, special thanks to Tony, Peter and everyone else whose names I forgot. The staff at House of Finn Juhl were amazing! I booked these rooms for my family trip, Yuka helped me plan dinners for our large group before we arrived and then upon arrival was even more amazing. The rooms were spacious and the furniture was beautiful. They helped arrange our Takyubin to the next location for our luggage. They provided amazing snacks and great breakfasts, it was wonderful!

I loved the location, it was so convenient being above the station. The area surrounding is nice, as a solo traveler, it is nice to not feel like you’re staying in the middle of nowhere in a snow town. There is a grocery store and restaurants close by. The room is also very nice and has a fridge. Plus has a good view!!

The room was wonderful with a great view of the surrounding area. It was conveniently close to the ski lifts, and had a nice bath area. Because of our booking we had to change rooms between nights, and the staff was amazing at accommodating that in a way that didn't detract from our skiing. The ski storage area and drying room were very handy for ease of our vacation.

Lovely lodge at an incredible location only a few minutes drive from Happo ski resort, with a delicious restaurant and amazing onsen on-site. This family-run business really looks after you and are extremely accommodative with requests. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to return!

While Japan is great with digital check ins, it was so nice having a genuine connection with the staf, especially Anis. There is so much charm and hospitality in this place. While it may not be modern accommodation, it makes up for it in customer service and comfort. Hotel manager Anis went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, they picked us up at the bus station, organised our Goryu ski passes, shuttled us to and from the rental place for free and genuinely wanted to make things easy for us. Accommodation was comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - you get a small set breakfast (mostly American style) as well as a buffet to top up (more Asian cuisine), more than enough to keep you fuelled for the morning. Bonus: They give you 20% off rental at Cherry rentals (literally across the road from Escal Plaza) as well as a free shuttle from the resort (it’s only a short 400m if you miss the last shuttle). Plus a small discount for ski passes. Thank you so much Anis and crew for our stay!!
