We had 2 wonderful nights here and we absolutely loved it. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. They even gave us a ride to the station (multiple times), provided bear bells for our hikes and even helped us cook dinner XD. Also, the breakfast was phenomenal! Nice and well-kept traditional establishment. The best experience we had of all the 4 ryokans we stayed in during our trip. Full meals are a must. Meals were fabulous. The hosts and staff speak English and were very helpful throughout our stay. Even offered to dry our gear and shoes after our hike in the rain.

Woderful stay! The Hill Top was our base for three nights. This allowed us to do the Tsumago/Magome hike (one hour drive) as well as hiking Mt. Kisokoma-gatake (one hour drive). Getting there by car was made easier by the indications on the roadside for the last few kilometers. The hosts were exquisitely kind. Dinner was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the local wines. Breakfast was also excellent. Surroundings of the hotel are beautiful. One of our most pleasant stay in Japan.

Yugo the manager and all the staff where so helpful. Even picked us up directly from the supermarket. There is a free shuttle to the station back and forth. The hotel has an amazing onsan!!! We loved finishing our day in the hot water. Free coffee or tea 24/7. Very big room.
