Nice temple, not so famous than koyasan, for me more authentic...it is a good option between tokyo and kyoto to have a rest, minimum 2 nights, the landscape is amazing with mountains. The staff is very nice, helpful and they explained everything at the check in...the food is very good, it is japanese food, they explain the dishes. I stayed 3 nights and i appreciated that they changed the dinner every time for me. You can wake up at 5 am for the morning prayer in the big temple, 20 minutes walking distance. It is easy to go there from Tokyo and go to kyoto...

Amazing hosts (husband & wife) who saw that our every need was met (including little details like heating our room and the bathroom at the right times). Exceptional cooking (evening meal and breakfast were wonderful). Sato-san gave us an insider’s view of the wonderful Kyonji temple. This hotel and the temple are worth going out of your way to visit. Beautiful garden.

Beautiful and peaceful stay. Ken, the chief priest took care of us really well. We are well informed about Nichiren buddhism and led to join the evening chanting and morning chanting. Vegetarian dinner and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay!

Actually this is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever been to. Especially at autumn time. The location was incredibly beautiful, I think I've never seen a location like that so far. Onsen is also a great experience to try, definitely recommend it. Overall this hotel is beautiful and I'll definitely come back here for a longer stay.

This was one of the best stops during our travels in Japan. We got picked up at the Fujinomiya train station by our hosts. We enjoyed riding the e-Bikes that we could rent from our host, as this allowed us to visit the local restaurants (we had a wonderful time with the locals at the お好み焼 和 Okonomiyaki restaurant) and the Kunugi Fish Farm, where we could fish with the family. Our host Hana was fantastic, she even arranged a drop-off at Fujinomiya train station outside of the regular drop-off trip, which is 10:30 am, so we could spend the morning in this fantastic rural area.

Loved the owners! They were super lovely and accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious. Scenery was really pretty. Great value for money.
