New hotel at good location (near to Niigata Train station and bus stations, surrounded by Shopping center, restaurants as well as convenience stores). Room is not big but good enough for single person stay. Staffs were helpful and response to message quite promptly.

Lovely stay here. Next to the station (only a road to cross). Excellent rooms for the price, with very comfortable sheets and pillows. Nice views of the city from the upper floors. I loved the onsen/sento, with the addition of free massage chairs in the relaxing room. Breakfast was also excellent. Overall, one of my best stays over my shinkansen Japan trip.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to find us a restaurant and even made reservations on our behalf. The hotel is quiet, and the rooms are spacious. I also enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a nice variety of both Japanese and Western dishes. I particularly loved the Niigata rice.

We enjoyed our stay very much. A short walk from the train station. Very clean room. Free coffee. A cozy space downstairs where you can work on your laptop or just read a book. We payed ¥15,600 for 2 nights good breakfast included.

Very convenient location right next to the station and all of the conveniences that come with that (restaurants and shops). They had a nice public bath and all of the usual amenities/toiletries, plus some. Convenience store right downstairs was extra handy and the room was clean and comfortable. Wifi was easy to connect to and I was able to cast to the TV

Niigata is a refreshing small city, and the river has...

Niigata is a refreshing small city, and the river has beautiful views of both sides. Each side of the river has green pedestrian and bicycle rider paths. There is easy access to the Performing Arts Center with its living rooftop garden on it's oval shaped building. Hakusan Park is not to be missed - an oasis away from the hubbub of office and city life! Complete with a lotus pond, bridges, a large temple, Tori gates, and a pond with a wisteria-covered bridge. Very scenic. There are the shops on Furumachidori - a covered avenue with adorable shops, bronze figures of baseball players, and the Japan Animation and Manga College is on this avenue. Along this dori you might see a box of turtles sunning on the sidewalk!

I've been extremely lucky, I was in Niigata after a snowstorm and I found an amazing scenery of beaches under a white carpet. The fisherman market is an experience you should not miss, delicious food and crazy cheap bill. Try to drive the coastline!

Niigata is a lovely place with warm people but be prepared...

Niigata is a lovely place with warm people but be prepared to travel by bus. To be more flexible make sure that you arrange a rental bike as this city doesn't have the subway lines you may be used to from Osaka or Tokyo.

Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday. Chilled. It has fabulous restaurants and little local bars, great scenery. Definitely worth a visit for a few days. The bullet train ride from Tokyo to Niigata had lots of beautiful scenery along the way. So glad we decided to visit here on our third trip to Japan. Incredibly easy to get around with such an efficient bus service.

I spent 2 nights in Niigata because the hotel I wanted was...

I spent 2 nights in Niigata because the hotel I wanted was booked out. I recommend spending there at least three nights. I visited Yahiko, a city nearby, which has a gorgeous park with Momiji trees, it was beautiful at the end of October. However, I had only a small amount of time for Niigata itself.

The staff were the stand out feature! They even take the payment only at check out which was a refreshing vote of trust in the guest. It takes me back to the old days before when people used to call the hotel and make the booking and payment when they check out. The staff helped with the luggage and showed me to the room as well. Wonderful people.

Just a short walk from the main station, this hotel is in the perfect location - also to explore the city. My personal highlight was the bath area which was really big. Additionally, there’s a convenience store right inside as well. Definitely a great choice when staying in Niigata!
