Food was wonderful, such a great quality of ingredients, so filling, and totally worth it for the price. The place was amazing and calm, and both the private bath, and the family one was clean, comfortable and great. The location is really close also to the lake, and the main street to explore during the day. Futon was really comfortable, and they provided a kotatsu since it was really cold outside. It was a dreamy traditional japanese stay.

This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

We loved our stay, the room was outstanding with an amazing view. The Chef was from a different planet, both the breakfast and dinner were exceptional and exceeded all expectations, a gem! The hotel is very clean and staff is friendly to explain the check in. Free Carkpark and quite a big space. Worth for the value to stay expecially in Beppu.
