GermanyVery attentiv staff, we had very helpfull informations and support for our arrive from the airport in Pakse and for our trip to the 4000 islands. We had a great stay enjoing every morning the beautifull terrace for breakfast and before the sunrise from our balcony. Fantastic wievs to the Mekong river. Very attentiv staff specially at the reception. Everything was excellent. We had a great time. And speciall thanks for the birthay sweets for my partner. Adorable!

River just across the road and guesthouse in excellent location for cafes etc. Good breakfast. Lovely friendly family. Fairly big room and bathroom with hot water. Air con. Comfy bed. Family can help with all bookings local and onward.

Canadalocation was outstanding, bungalow overlooking the wetlands, watching sunrise from bed with doors open to hear the sounds of birds, insects and water buffalow and the pool right on the edge of the wetlands all made for an amazing stay. food was great and the breakfast (included) was wonderful. the staff were so friendly and informative about the area. organized trips from the lodge (trekking and canoe trip) were greatly enjoyed.

I was in Champassak during the Wat Phou Festival which was...
I was in Champassak during the Wat Phou Festival which was great and interesting and then returned for one night after being in the 4000 Islands before heading north. The Temple are marvellous and would like to see it without all the tourists and festival goers but I enjoyed the festival particularly the opening and the Alms Ceremony for the monks.
We went down the Wat Oum Tomo by a small private boat - a 2 hour trip each way around the island, but it was well worth it.
Champassak is peaceful and encourages relaxation although I found bicycling in the rice paddies gave me insight into country life.
My most vivid memory is sitting by the Mekong and watching the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen over a river that was as still as glass.

The roads in Champasak are very bad with massive pot holes, I recommend to hire a 4wd. Pakse has lots of markets to look at and there are some beautiful waterfall to look at just 1-2 hours drive. The Mekong river is amazing to look at also. I highly recommend going to the Vat Phou.

We stayed two days. That was plenty.
We stayed two days. That was plenty. The architectural site is well worth a visit. We did everything by bike. But it takes some effort to find bikes in good working order. If you can, don't miss the Shadow Theatre. A little gem! And then visit the "Chez Maman" shop, which offers beautiful, typical products made by the local ethnic groups.

It's worth coming to Champasak to visit the Khmer temple, but the atmosphere of the town itself is also great, with lovely walks to enjoy. The restaurants overlooking the Mekong and the quality of the accommodation (without breaking the bank) make for an extremely pleasant stay.

Champasak is a small village with only two main streets.
Champasak is a small village with only two main streets. In the town you should definitely visit the shop Bonne Maman. The highlight is the visit to Wat Phou. Entrance fee 50,000 Kip. You have to climb a lot to the highest point, many dangerous steps and stones, even in rain. There is also a nice museum nearby. A Tuk tuk to the temple costs about 150,000 kip.

The Location of La Folie Lodge is breathtaking! The Mekong view, the sunsets, the gardens magical. However, equally wonderful was the fabulous Aum, who greeted us and helped organise our activities in Champasak. Her English was fabulous and she was so proactive, smart and hospitable! She gave us a bicycle torch in the evening, organised our bicycles on the boat to cycle to Wat Phu for the most perfect day of our holiday. If you are planing a Champasak vacation, Aum at La Folie is the lady to make holiday dreams come true!

The restaurant area was beautiful with good food, overlooking the Mekong and a lovely garden area. The room was beautifully decorated with a lovely comfortable bed. We hired a motorbike to go to Wat Phou and got a ferry from the hotel’s jetty across the river to catch the Green paradise bus to Si Phan Don. The staff were superbly helpful.

It is a very beautiful hotel in full nature.
I booked two rooms (for me and for the parents of my wife). I ordered the ground floor because the mother is 75y old, but she didn't get it (although the hotel was empty). Also they tried to ask more money than was confirmed on Booking.com.

Wonderful place in Champasak. Beatiful location. The owner is very kind and helpful in anything you need. He kept the kitchen open for us arriving late in the evening. Food and cocktails very good!
