Really nice room located next to the beaches. Very good breakfast in quantity! And the staff are really nice and helpful. They took us for a boat trip to see the mangroves and to see what there is to see around. And show us the gems from Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at a hotel Ocean Breeze Cottage during my vacation, and I had a wonderful experience! The room was nice,Clean and included a balcony with a stunning sea view, which made my mornings extra special. The hotel’s location was also a big plus since it was close to town, making it easy to explore. Breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of options, and I appreciated the friendly staff who made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Our stay at Ahu Bay was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself is breathtaking, set between two bays with panoramic ocean views that create the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and immaculately maintained, blending comfort with understated luxury. Dining at Ahu Bay was a highlight of the entire experience. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding — fresh, carefully prepared, and always cooked to perfection. The menu offers a thoughtful mix of local flavours and international favourites, each dish presented with genuine care and creativity. Every meal felt memorable. What truly sets Ahu Bay apart, however, is the quality of its staff. From the front desk to the restaurant and beyond, every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay feel special. Their professionalism and hospitality elevated the experience far beyond expectation. A heartfelt thank you to Abhishek for his exceptional hospitality and to the entire team for ensuring that our time at Ahu Bay was so memorable. - Nice room with AC - Hot water (not so common in Sri Lanka) - Located next to the sea, two beautiful beaches close by (sunbeds provided) - One beach is a turtle nesting side - we were lucky and saw a turtle coming to the shore in the evening - Village is quiet with not many tourists - Property has a restaurant, they prepared us dinner on the beach for no additional price - Nice breakfast - Turtle sanctuary near by (we recommend Galbokka Sea Turtle Conservation where you can pet baby turtles) - Extremely lovely manager with a good sense of humour who did everything to make us feel welcome. Would definitely come back.

Villa 42 is, in short a hidden gem. For anyone looking for comfort, privacy and wonderful hospitality they won't get any better than this lovely villa just half a mile or so from gorgeous (mostly empty) beaches and several decent restaurants (ask Siri for recommendations). Siri will provide his pampered guests with the best of breakfasts adapting tp personal taste (Sri Lankan style or to more western taste). Siri's well maintained swimming pool will be your refreshing reward after a few hours of Sri Lankan heat.

Place is pretty amazing, just 2 minutes to the beach & to any restaurant. Staff is very helpful with all the information I wanted. His knowledge of the area is an added value to the property. In room coffee is provided, I was able to cook my fresh food in the house kitchen.

We loved the Villa 826 Ahungalla. The room was very clean and had a comfortable bed. Had a amazing bathroom with hot water and great shower. Great location, few minutes from the beach. It is very long and so beautiful. Owner was very kindly, friendly and helpful with everything. Breakfast also very delicious and had a very tasty sri lankan items and homemade by family. Highly recommended!

Nilnara Villa was absolutely stunning, spacious, clean and cozy place to stay a few or even more days! It is located a bit away from the (urban) noise with a nice beach (great pool!) but at the same time very close (by tuk tuk/motorbike) to the near villages/cities. The stuff was always there for us and helped in any ways (even took us to the airport) and even the chef cooked us wonderful meals. Our favourite stays in Sri Lanka! Thank you so much!

The property was beautifully crafted so as not to disturb the stunning surrounding nature. The wooden and thatched finishes really added to the natural look and feel of the environment. The open air restaurant as well as tables and chairs nestled in what I loved to call “secret hiding places” as a child was so thoughtful and made me smile. Every area felt cared for and appreciated which I really felt from the moment I arrived. Barbara, Lars and the team are just incredible. Everyone was so attentive and zen but I appreciated they also allowed me my lone wolf time so I never felt disturbed or intruded upon during my quiet time of reflection and rebooting. I highly recommend Jungle Beach and I cannot wait to return!!! I am already anticipating my next holidays to revisit!! Thank you so much All for such a beautifully relaxing and restful time!! PS - On a separate note the food is also amazing and I often saw guests from neighboring hotels eating at Jungle Beach also! Just such a beautiful place and very grateful for the incredible experience!!

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.

    Ahungalla is a little village, hence to see places around...

    Ahungalla is a little village, hence to see places around you need bus or tuk tuk services, they run on main road all the time. We loved Bentota - a resort 20 min on a bus - it had calm beach and cafes to eat/drink around. Just outside Bentota there is village where you can get good shopping for clothes, gifts etc. Galle is 50min drive on a bus from Ahungalla. It's a lovely historic place to visit. We liked Ahungalla as it's less busy/noisy than other towns, and the villa we stayed was 5min walk to the beach. There is a good supermarket for basic items.

    Ocean pearl Cottage is a place where you can feel right at home. The owners do everything possible to fulfil your needs and wishes, may it be for meals or drinks or organisation of trips. The Place is very quiet, clean and located in a Small Street just a Couple of Minutes walk away from the Ocean. the Beach is amazingly clean, long and has a Turtle Conservation project close by. I really enjoyed staying in Ahungalla at Oceans pearl for a couple of days and will definitely be back.

    Peaceful hotel nicely located between 2 beautiful beaches that are completely different feels than usual sri Lankan pretty crowded beaches. Staff is really nice and helpful, massages are amazing, pool is clean as it’s everything. Truly recommend this place you won’t regret it.
