I felt at home and everyone in the family is a friendly, accommodating and a warm host. I learned a few more words of Sinhala while I helped Damayanthie with the cooking or played UNO with their children. There is a river nearby where you can swim, so I went there with the 2 kids. The accomodation is really close to Wilpattu national park. The owner of the place and the whole staff are superb. They can cook exceptional dinner for you with local flavours. They also organize full day safaris with a really enthusiastic staff for a good price (the owner of the place is a pro photographer so they are a really good option for safari if you would like to do some wildlife photography). The safari car is a jeep which is a better alternative than a pickup according to me. Of course it is not a luxury accomodation but has really good value/money ratio.

Amila was very helpful with everything I needed. You can cook, wash your clothes, there is even unlimited drinkable water for you. WiFi is enough to have video meetings. Pretty convenient and cheap take-out 200m away that works late. Free bikes, use them even if they look like falling apart. The experience of biking around the Sacred City will be a nice memory.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Chaya is very friendly and helpful with arranging tours/anything else you might need during your stay. She is also a very good cook ;) The room was very clean, with good A/C, and the Wifi worked really well from the kitchen area (didn't work as well from the room we were staying in, but this wasn't a problem). Would highly recommend anyone to stay here!
