I loved everything about Halketha. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Chitra, Mary and Nelumi. We were taken to our villa across a beautiful landscaped garden that also stays true to its love for the natural environment. The villa itself was perfection - perfectly decorated, clean, homely but also provided you with a sense that you were in luxury. The outdoor bathroom was a cherry on top, with a beautiful araliya tree in the middle. During our stay, we were not only treated close to family, but the quality of service was nothing like I had seen in Sri Lanka for a long time. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, with a rich yet classic taste. The property is close to mini waterfalls and great walks. This is a stay I will keep coming back to. A reminder that authentic and wholesome experiences still exist in Sri Lanka.

The villa is in a quiet area. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool and enjoyed the different games available like the billiard table. Aloka made sure we had great meals and showed us a river with small waterfalls in the area where the kids could take a swim which was great.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Out of all the hotels we stayed in for a month in Sri Lanka we liked this one and one other hotel the best. We got the room at a reduced rate online and the value for money was exceptional. The property has small number of rooms yet has so much space and so many sitting areas. The gardens and decor are really nice. The pool was really nice and clean. The beach area is really nice to walk and clean, really great beach for walking and just ten minutes walk on beach to main area. The rooms are really nice, very large, very clean, great bed and linen and areas to sit and big balcony with very comfortable seating. The bathroom is large and good. The bathroom is a bit open but they put mosquito prevention items etc and there weren’t any mosquitoes as they fumigate but would be easier if they just put flyscreen in bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. The property feels very luxurious and intimate. The dinner menu was limited with western food only that was very formal and no snacks etc. It is understandable to have limited menu because at the time we stayed there were only three groups of guests. However there are many eating options in Bentota so there was no problem at all, the place across the road was cheap and cheerful and Nova Seafood was really, really good.

Lovely location overlooking the river and a short free boat ride provided to access the wonderful Bentota beach. Nuwan and Dinesha are great host and cooked a lovely Sri Lankan breakfast (and omelette for the kids) every morning. Family apartment on top floor was very spacious and perfect for us.

I cannot write an objective review for the place since from me this was like a pilgrimage because I am just a huge fan of Geoffrey Bawa. Just being there was a dream come true! The staff is exceptional, very thoughtful and well mannered. The small touches like the happy hour where they serve home infused gin and tonic ( Bawa’s favourite) by the Lunuganga is an experience in itself. The sense was of history , his whimsical sense of design , his attention to detail is a learning in itself.. What a legacy !

The location is amazing. Its right at the beach. This hotel is run by family and the owner personally takes good care of the guests. The best part was even if the owner's wife was in hopsital, he came all the way just to ensure that we have a smooth checkin. Thanks a lot for the gesture Harshit. The breakfast was amazing and was cooked by owner's family so you get to taste the home food. I would definately come back to this place if i visit next. Thanks Harshit for all the help. There are no words to describe the hospitality and kindness, we were welcomed like part of the family. We felt like Chami Villa was second home, it was our first accomodation in Sri Lanka and we miss it already. As I told you, I would give you a 100, but I can only give you a 10. The property is beautiful, rooms are large, very clean with good air-conditioning. Breakfast was abundant and so tastefull. We were 4, 2 adults and 2 children and the triple room had more than enough space for us, the big bed was large enough for 3 to sleep in. When my daughter fell and got wound on her legs, he brought us a cream to help heel it. When we went to the beach, they made sure we had everything we needed. Last but not least, Maya the dog was so charming and our children did not want to leave Chami the last they because of her and they keep mentioning her all the time.
