The Shakshuka breakfast was delicious, also the pasta dinner ~ as good as in Italy. Bed so comfortable, setting very peaceful. Pool was perfect for cooling down in the middle of the day and I loved watching monkeys swing through the trees while reading on a pool lounger. The owner arranged a jeep safari for me at local Eco Park ~ it was awesome to see elephants up so close!

We genuinely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. It felt like coming home – not to one mom, but to many welcoming moms. All the staff took such good care of us and made sure we had the best time. They had great tips on sightseeing and booked a fair priced tuktuk to drive us around Dambulla. The buffet was varied and delicious; the room and garden were tidy, beautiful and clearly looked after; the bed was super comfortable. We really hope we can come back one day.

The hotel manager Bernard was really friendly and helpfull. Whatever you ask, he tries to arrange is. He even sent someone to the shop to get musquito spray for us. Booked a safari through the hotel with a decent price compared to other offers we had and it was good arranged. The pool was very clean. Breakfast was very good and much. Location was good, only a couple minutes with a tuktuk to the center with all the restaurants and vert close to the rock.

Very good value for money. Walking distance to the main hub, yet still a nice and quiet location. Tasty breakfast which was different each day and a comfortable and clean room. Very welcoming and accommodating too

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but purely for the iconic Sigiriya Rock—and it was absolutely worth it. The experience was incredible, with stunning views from the top. My friends and I climbed up for sunrise, which I highly recommend as the best time to go. Just be prepared: there are a lot of stairs—some carved directly into the rock, others metal and uneven. We visited in November just after the monsoon, so it was warm and the climb had us sweating buckets. If you plan on taking those perfect social-media photos, bring a spare T-shirt… or do what I did and let AI handle the magic! Although the ascent was tough and left us literally out of breath, the moment we reached the top made it all worth it. The views were truly breathtaking—quite fitting, since the climb already took my breath away.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights in the end as we got to sigiriya late. This meant we ate dinner one night at the little hut which wass great, climbed the rock, then moved on to the habarana which was also interesting to wander and eat.

The weather is very calm.

The weather is very calm. Recommended time to start climb is 5.45 AM. So worthy to watch the surroundings from top of the Sigiriya. You can learn a lot about Sigiriya. You can get a guide if you want from the entrance.

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya.

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya. And no wonder such a wonderful World Heritage Site kept popping up everywhere: Test it against the massive old fortress, the gorgeous frescoes, and images taken of landscapes from the summit, and there you’ll pick one of Sri Lanka’s greatest treasures. Not an easy or casual climb but certainly one that throws panoramic views so very far worth it and lucid into history at every step. Water gardens at the bottom quite worth a visit. One has to get there at dawn to avoid numerous tourists and scorching sun. Thus, in general, Sigiriya is a combination of artistic creation, engineering work of antiquity, and a miracle of nature, and a must-see site in Sri Lanka.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this area.

A nice hike to view a breathe taking view.

A nice hike to view a breathe taking view. If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.

Saman is extremely friendly and helpful. The location to Lion’s Rock is walkable from the hotel. The only reason you would come to Sigiriya is to climb this or the other rock close by. There is nothing else in this area. Pretty bar and pool area, having a drink at the bar was nice with the entertainment every night being a big plus. Surroundings are gorgeous, lush trees and jungle feeling. It’s really like a village with many bungalows set out over a large space in mini cul-de-sacs. Laundry was turned around quickly.

The hotel is set in a spectacular location in the mountains, with amazing views of Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks. The rooms and comfort are definitely 5 star, and the 3 pools are all great. The main pool by the cafe area at sunset is excellent and incredibly chilled and relaxing. We were lucky enough to see elephants out in the fields on one of our two nights. The setting and finish in the hotel are both amazing and you really feel like you are in one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.

The property was clean and spacious, the rooms have fans and aircon and the bathroom is modern and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful and also provided me with a transfer to Kandy on short notice. Breakfast is included in the price and it is the best breakfast I’ve had in any Sri Lanka hotel. The property is located well, it is near local restaurants and the local village as well as walking distance to the Sigiriya Rock.

We spent in hotel only 1 night but if we would stay in Sigiriya longer we would definetly stay here. The second we came, personal were so nice and helpful. Location of hotel is amazing, walk distance to Lion rock and 20 min with tuk tuk to Dambulla caves. The room was spacious, clean, with amazing view. Breakfast in morning was amazing, homemade mix of western and traditional sri lankan dishes with fresh cut fruit. 10/10

Roo Mansala is the best hotel we visited in Sri Lanka. We had a villa on the upper floor overlooking the Pidurangala and Sigiriya rocks. The pool is lovely and they also have an upper observation deck where you can see the nearby lake and beautiful birds. The food is delicious and the staff are all very helpful and caring. They even organised our last dinner on the upper deck which was a real treat. Highly recommended!
