We had an amazing stay at Le Marin, the view on the sea is just breathtaking, it is just a few minutes from the best beach of Rodrigues. The rooms have a perfect size and beds (twin room) are comfy, very clean. The hotel is still doing the finishes to part of the construction but it did not at all bother us as it is on the other side, no noise . The restaurant offered really delicious local meals and was careful to my food allergies, grateful to the kindness of the staff for making our stay memorable despite the cyclone nearby. The infinity edge pool was sparkling and wonderful. We have been to Rodrigues several times we have been really happy here. Thank you !

Everything: It is located right next to the Port Mathurin’s (Rodrigues Capital City) Bus Station, so every facility that you can imagine is nearby - banks, shops, markets, buses, taxis, you name it. The staff made my stay so authentic and fulfilling - Stenio and Christelle have been super welcoming, warm and trustworthy - that was irreplaceable. The bonus is that Bon Vivant Front de Mer is located in front of the sea. Such a serene place and very cosy - it is the best place for anyone who wishes to disconnect from the world. There is also a running track next to the hotel, so it’s pretty cool. I enjoyed how easy it was to walk to Anse aux Anglais beach.

It‘s a good place to spend a night when arriving late, as it‘s very close to the airport. The family is very nice, and I appreciated a lot the pick up from the airport, a nice breakfast. I even got some dinner (chargable of course) as there is no restaurant close by. The room is fine and the garden lovely.

The property overall exceeded our expectations and it is well situated in the middle of the island (it is an excellent option if you want to escape the extreme heat along the coast and enjoy living in the mountain greeneries). The appartment has a modern finish, spacious, well-maintained and is well-equipped. The host was very responsive and was always reachable if ever there was anything. We had a wifi issue which the owner resolved quickly.

We went to Rodrigues for diving and to snorkel.

We went to Rodrigues for diving and to snorkel. The coral reefs are incredible - some of the best we have been to. You can see amazing creatures and fish. For this we would highly recommend Rodrigues. The beaches are stunning - do the hike to Anse Bouteille, Anse Trou d'Argent and the others. Unfortunately deforestation caused a lot of damage to the environment. There also isn't huge choice when it comes to food

Rodrigues island is undoubtedly a place for complete...

Rodrigues island is undoubtedly a place for complete relaxation and disconnection. The complete opposite of the overcrowded Mauritius. Rare traffic, beautiful and quite secluded beaches (accessible on foot), no large holiday resorts, but with very friendly home-based accommodation. We also had a shared dinner at the accommodation, which is ideal for even better bonding between the hosts and other guests in a very relaxed atmosphere.

I always recommend Rodrigues island to everyone.

I always recommend Rodrigues island to everyone. I've been to Europe and Asia but my favourite destination remains Rodrigues. And the reason is it's authenticity. People in Rodrigues are very nice. Their good attitude and helpful nature is inspiring. They know how to enjoy life and live in peace, harmony and contentment. This makes them unique. I feel connected with nature and life when I'm there. Love to the island. And I've had the best grilled fish of my life.. 😋

We were unfortunate with the weather during our 9 day stay.

We were unfortunate with the weather during our 9 day stay. Had a grade 4 cyclone which disallowed the water activities we were hoping for but didn't spoil our holiday but rather added some excitement. It made us look for other activities we could experience such as catching local buses, renting a scooter and doing lots of hikes along the coast line. Loved the noisy music on the buses and helpfulness of the ticket collectors to let us off at our named destinations. Even though English is apparently taught in schools we did struggle to make ourselves understood.

Easy to get to on a short Air Mauritius flight from...

Easy to get to on a short Air Mauritius flight from Mauritius international airport. A beautiful island with miles of unspoilt sandy beaches behind a reef. Relatively easy and inexpensive to travel around the island by taxi.

It’s a place for rest.

It’s a place for rest. In one day one can travel almost throughout the island. Many artisanal products for sale to tourists but for the bottled foods it is not so sure in what conditions they were prepared.
