A super cool place to stay in Homun. Very friendly owner. Large, green, well kept garden. Comfortable, clean rooms with garden view. Delicious food at onsite restaurant (very quite - not accessible to people from outside). Swimming pool. A great place to spend few days enjoying nearby cenotes.

Homun is a wonderful town that thrives on the Cenote tourism, but mainly catering to Mexican tourists, espicallit folks from Merida out for weekend escapes and such. As Americans, we were a bit of novelty, but everyone was lovely and patient with our imperfect Spanish. The Finca itself is slightly hard to find; most street numbers are hard to spot from the street, and the outside wall is anonymous. But inside is a beautiful wonderland; it would be a fantastic place for a large family gathering or group of friends traveling together.

A spectacular property in the forests with: - gardens that are manicured just at the right level - its own cenotes (you can swim in one semi-open one, not sure about the other ones) - its own cave that you can visit with a (Spanish) guide - a mirador just like in the pictures (only open in the morning and evening, but I'm sure if you asked you could go up during the day) - a bonfire place near the tents - a spa for massages Everything is beautifully designed and so well thought through. A few notes: - When we were there in July, the place was very quiet, which added to the magic. - In my head, I had expected more jungle (could have probably known better with more research). The "jungle retreat" was less jungl-y than a number of places we had come from between Valladolid and Celestun. No howler monkeys, no big snakes, etc. (I don't think) However, we did see a grey fox (!), iguanas and lots of beautiful birds and butterflies. - Because I wanted a full jungle immersion experience, I had booked a tent - they have a lot of "windows" and I thought you would be closer to nature than in a concrete house. However, since we visited in July with 36° C and high humidity, we decided to move to a suite (with AC; the tents have fans only of course). They were absolutely gorgeous (a shower open to the sky! a whirpool! a daybed! two hammocks!) and because there weren't very loud jungle noises at night anyway, I don't think we actually missed out. - The restaurant was great. You can probably drive to Tekit (we didn't), but I'm not sure there are many decent alternative food options there, so you might be a bit limited. - We brought many bottles of water. Turns out this was unnecessary - you get water everywhere. - Communication works via WhatsApp; they were very responsive and helpful. - The staff happily drove elderly people around in buggies. - This is a place to go to for pure relaxation. - The Internet was no problem at all.

A truly amazing experience. The owners and staff are so hospitable, it feels like your home away from home in the Yucatán jungle. Definitely stay here if you can, we’ll be back hopefully!

An absolute gem! It's so beautiful here and it's surrounded not just by cenotes but amazing countryside for long leisurely walks. The food that they prepare is organic and delicious and they are very generous with it and the juices they prepare.. They also have transport to deliver you wherever you want. A place to view magnificent sunsets and the stars too..it's amazing and so are the family that run it xxxxx

When my partner and I arrived at Hospedaje Papagrande Hotel we were met by the owner who had a warm smile and spoke really good English. She provided us with great information about the cenotes, restaurants and the town. The room was large, comfortable and had great wifi. The staff also let us keep our car in the compound the following day whilst we visited the beautiful Cenotes of the region.

Homun is a small town with developing facilities that is at the center of the Ring of Cenotes - there are 20 or more either within or close to town limits. It's fairly quiet and not much to do except visit the Cenotes. One of the better places to stay is Hotel Santa Maria - it has a good restaurant, bottomless coffee refills, and a pool.

Adjust your expectations.

Adjust your expectations. Staying at Cabañas Santa Cruz feels more like a glorified tent camping rather than room lodging. Other the the Church building, there are not a lot of things to do in Homún, it’s mainly cenotes.
