Kuching is a wonderful city with a relaxed atmosphere and very friendly people. The city is clean, easy to explore, and full of cultural charm. I especially enjoyed the beautiful waterfront area, local food, and the mix of old and modern buildings. Sarawakian cuisine is delicious, and there are many great places to try local dishes. Overall, Kuching is a lovely destination and a great place to visit for culture, food, and nature.

Kuching is a cute town with a lot of interesting historic sites and many tropical trees . The town itself is very nice situating along the main river although it's expanding quite rapidly in all directions. The town offers both historic and modern views . There are many nice parks scatter around the town. There are many nice shopping malls and market squares in the city with plenty of eateries . However, the town suffers heavy car traffic at times during the day similar to many big cities in Malaysia .

The Marian is full of character, being an old colonial style building, and our King room, overlooking the pool, had its own balcony area (lovely to sit and watch the birds in the garden), good air con and efficient shower in the bathroom. The pool and area around it is great. The staff in reception were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. The hotel is situated very close to the water front, craft stores, Carpenter Street and quite near to a shopping mall. We would have liked to have stayed longer. The “roti canai” at the Indian restaurant near the Harmony Arch is super. Don’t miss the coloured lights and water fountains on the river at 8:30pm. You can watch them whilst having a beer at the James Brooke Restaurant.

Genuine, exotic and unique city.

Genuine, exotic and unique city. A small big city, easy to capture and take around, beautiful walks by Sarawak River, beautifully illuminated evenings and totally awesome night market with food to die for! Street following shore is full of shops, selling genuine handicrafts for a dime. get aquinted with the rich culture and handicrafts of the local tribes. Please do get in contact with locals, local culture and art! Enjoy the friendliness and hospitality. This is the very city where I felt I am far away from home, yet I felt home, welcome. Food to die for. Visit Campung Boyan, eat by local food markets, take a TAMPANG across or along the river, costs a dime. I warmly recommend Kutching!

Kuching is a beautiful city with so much charm and character. The Waterfront is lively and scenic, perfect for evening walks with views of the river and Darul Hana Bridge. The Main Bazaar and Carpenter Street are full of heritage shops, local food, and handicrafts, giving a glimpse of the city’s culture. Food is definitely a highlight here; laksa Sarawak, mee kolok, and kek lapis are must-tries. The people are warm and friendly, always ready to share recommendations. Kuching is also a great base for exploring nature, from Bako National Park to the orangutan sanctuary. Overall, it’s a city that feels welcoming, laid-back, and rich in culture.

The Borneo Cultures Museum is worth the trip in itself, but in addition there is fabulous food, great festivals, temples, lots of history (the Rajah Brookes), good wildlife, and wonderfully hospitable people. Shopping for locally made curios is worthwhile here. A short hop from Kuala Lumpur and a real sense of the diversity that exists in Malaysia at a much lower cost than other parts of Malaysia.

Location is very good near waterfront and chinese museum. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Able to check in early as long as room ready. This is my 3rd stay in d green during my kuching holidays. I break the stay to go to mulu cave and permai rainforest and bako national park. During these breaks they allow me to leave some of my bags behind. Much appreciated. Bed comfortable, shower very good and kettle avaliable. Free mineral water on 1st day of stay. Nearby 2 coffee shops with good kolo mee and many other stalls.

The 2 rooms (with a view of the river) were excellent with all facilities, the hotel was impressively clean and it served our purposes perfectly. Right next to Jalan Main Bazaar, opposite the Waterfront, with all the best bars, restaurants & complexes nearby, it could not be better situated and was a very comfortable stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Great breakfast. Nice and clean rooms. Great starting point to explore Kuching, the waterfront in walking distance. Nice small local restaurants just around the corner. Water refill stations in the hotel and recycling bins.
