Staff was really friendly and accommodating with all my extra requests. Bed was really comfortable, room is spacious, clean, good design. Breakfast was plentiful and they were happy to make adjustments. I cannot highlight enough how nice the staff was, every single person working there was just a joy to interact with!

Everything! The property was very clean and well kept. Room was large, bed was comfy, shower was humungous with a massive rain head and tub was great too. Pool area was perfect for relaxing. wifi worked well and the breakfast was fantastic. All staff were excellent, polite and attentive.

As my wife and I were waiting to clear immigration in Walvis Bay, Namibia, to get off a cruise ship as we were both very sick and needed medical attention, we booked The Rez Guesthouse for two nights. They accommodated our early check in request, and as we were checking in a few short hours later, Malani, the proprietor, looked at my wife and said: You are not looking well. Do you want to see a doctor? - YESSSS! Within an hour, Malani arranged free transportation to see a private doctor. After examination, the doctor said my wife had to go to the hospital immediately as her lung capacity was dangerously low. Within an hour, my wife was admitted to the only private hospital in Walvis Bay. What does it all have to do with The Rez? A LOT! Malani went above and beyond what was expected of her. When you go on vacation, you don’t expect anything bad to happen. As we learned, it might. Malani literally saved us. And The Rez? Did I mention the nice location in an upscale residential neighborhood only 500 meters away from the waterfront, nice tasteful décor, a cozy courtyard, spacious rooms, upgraded bathrooms, great breakfast (try Ellen’s omelet), and referrals to carefully selected local vendors.

Walvis Bay is not really set up for tourists and the weather...

Walvis Bay is not really set up for tourists and the weather is not at all comfortable during September/October - we were told that the afternoon strong winds and cold weather (14 C max were normal). A good base though for kayaking with seals and other outdoor experiences. Well stocked supermarket and a few restaurants with much the same offerings.

I loved the Lagoon where I saw flamingos ☺️. There is a Dolphin coffee place it was amazing. I didn’t really the beach side in Walvis Bay, but I got a chance to go to Swakopmund’s one. The boat cruise was definitely amazing

I liked the weather, activities particularly the combo from...

I liked the weather, activities particularly the combo from Sandwich Dune company which included a cruise, we were able to see seald which kept coming on our boat, pelicans, dolphins and we also got an opprotunity to see a whale. We then went on the sand dune drive which was a lot of fun got to see where the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib desert meet. we also saw the desert animalsthe oryx and springbok. It was a great adventure which we all enjoyed. We got to v isit the Mondesa Village Hafeni restraunt for some local food which we enjoyed

Walvis Bay is a peaceful city/town with some great activities to participate in such as sailing on the Atlantic to spot seals and whales. It's a great choice for visitors looking to relax in a peaceful neighbourhood. Its only 30 minutes away from the old town of Swakopmund where visitors can access relaxing beach spots, tourism sites, and restaurants.

We loved Anchors and the Raft, delicious food, amazing views and friendly atmosphere. The sunsets are magnificent and walks along the lagoon were spectacular with the flamingos right up close (low tide) Langstrand and Swartkopmond are a must, treat yourself to delicious German cuisine at Cafe Anton. Quad of sandbuggy in the majestic dunes is an exciting yet humbling experience. We found the paitrons all super friendly. I never knew I would fall in love with the desert as I have....a great holiday indeed

Upon arrival I was surprised by a free upgrade. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of town. An the view on the lagoon in stunning. Decent restaurant and bar are part of the hotel.
