Beautiful location, a lot of care in the aesthetics. The pool was so nice to chill inside and around. They even bring you drinks and food to the pool! AC in the room was amazing, good shower and comfy bed. The place is really peaceful and located right behind Playa Roca which is really good for surf! Owners were so sweet and the staff was very attentionate and professional. The included breakfasts were probably the most varied and high quality we had in Nicaragua. The food at the restaurant is done by an Italian chef and is just so good, all of it. You have to try the lemon ice cream! Could not recommend this place enough, would definitely come back!

Excelent location and whole stay at this apartment. Very nice garden, pool and food. The owner was very friendly and helpful with everything we needed and gave as a lot of great tips for traveling in Nicaragua. Strongly recommend👍

If you are in Leon take the time to spend a few days at Las Peñitas at Nuevo NAYAL! It’s stunning and beautifully designed. Everything feels new! The spanish couple who set up this place are so kind and welcoming. They have created a true oasis to escape the heat of the city and I couldn’t have had a better 3 nights stay here to round off my trip in Nicaragua. The food is brilliant as well at the restaurant. I ate all my meals there as they were too good! And the staff went out of their way to help me with laundry and tours etc. It’s definitely one of the best, if not the best place to stay in Las Penitas.

Great place! The pool was nice and the kids loved the huge waves at the beach. The staff was super helpful, even preparing coffee and fruit for us for our departure at 4 am. We had good service at the restaurant, and the breakfast was really good. There isn't much around the hotel but you can catch the bus right outside the hotel. Would definitely return.

What truly stood out was the exceptional care and warmth of the staff. Unfortunately, I fell ill during my trip (completely unrelated to the hotel), but as a solo traveler, I was deeply touched by the genuine support and kindness I received from the team. Special thanks to Sandrine and Mariana, who run the hotel with so much love and dedication. Their care made me feel surrounded by a sense of family, even when I was far from home.

Was a wonderful stay! Such nice hosts that also help you organize trips if needed, clean, everything we needed. Quiet environment. bikes you can use for short trips since it is not right at the beach. Cabines are very cute!

Las Penitas is only 2 hours from Managua and 20 mins from lovely Leon. It’s totally relaxing, with some great places to eat for every budget, surf schools and mangroves to explore. The fishermen bringing their boats in up the river are a great sight to see at high tide. All in all, it’s a truly magical place, that I secretly hope not tooooooo many people will go to😜

We needed a place to relax and enjoy the beach. The staff and the owner make sure our stay were in the mood. We like the food. They also recommended restaurants in the area, and places to visit. Excelent place to stay.

Food was great, Tony was an amazing server and took care of us like we were family. On the down side, hotel needs a lot of improvement. Bathrooms are very duty, the lobby for some reason smelled like pee, and the cushions on the dining area were very duty too.

Huge unspoilt beach with mangroves nearby. Very impressive. The sea is only suitable for surfing and playing in the waves though- not swimming. Best in morning and evening when it cools down. The mangrove and turtle reserve is a must do tour or kayak journey. It’s beautiful, rare and the work they do with the turtles is very important. The baby turtle release is amazing. The food at la Barca de Oro restaurant is great and there are lots of veggies and vegan options.

Clean, wide, and long beach, beautiful sunsets, lots of pelicans flying overhead, great for swimming, surfing, bodyboarding, and walking. Delicious local and international food. Close to Leon, easily accessible by chicken bus. Beautiful starry sky.

And it's like a village on the beach: the bay, the ocean,...

And it's like a village on the beach: the bay, the ocean, the mangroves... Strolls along the long, seemingly endless beach. It's peaceful because it's undeveloped. Incredible! The people are incredibly kind. Lots of activities available locally, and Leon is just a short bus ride away.
