Everything was nice and clean. The location was great, in a little village, with plenty of space for oudoor life. There are many possibilities for outdoor activities or for simply staying in the garden/ reading/ playing board games. There are some chicken living freely outdoors - that have the best eggs. We loved our stay, in such quiet place. The owners are very kind and helpful.

Very cute hotel. Unusual beds in closets, but really comfy and fun! A couple of minutes away walking from the city center. Free parking at the hotel. We had a perfect stay there!

This place is an amazing find . Up in the north a great base to go exploring. Giethoorn was beautiful and did a fantastic canal trip . Joure was one of my fav places we explored from pieterburen . Id come back here . 100 percent... The staff at the hotel are so helpful . The only problem . We booked supper and yet arrived 5 mins before our time and there were no tables .? God knows what goes on in the summer season . ? But we found the most fabulous place . de jongens. The food was amazing. The hotel room we had was fantastic. And we would go back 100 percent ... Thanks .

Well equipped, beautiful clean apartment in a quant town. Anton and Ina are such friendly and accommodating hosts!! I did not realise the bedrooms were on the first floor up a steep stairway which my mother could not manage. Ina made a plan and made a bed downstairs. Delicious breakfast with fruit, yoghurt, juice, coffee, cheese, breads and cold meats. Highly recommended!

Irene and Marten take great care of their guests - they were sharing great tips and gave us some insights on the region. Also they were super helpful and gave not only us, but also our two dogs, a very warm welcome. The rooms are cosy and clean, the breakfast is amazing and you get a bag for putting together a lunch package. There‘s drinks and coffee free to grab all day without additional costs. And the place is surrounded by stunning nature, especially for bird lovers.

The unit is clean and well maintained. There is a lounge / dining area / kitchen. There is a fold-out bed. There is also a separate bedroom and a bathroom which looks like it may be wheelchair friendly. The staff is very friendly. The seal centre is almost next door. There is a lovely restaurant across the road. Just a note about the area: the grocery store is quite far if you are walking. There is a wonderful information folder listing many useful places.

There's not much to do in Kloosterburen and the surrounding...

There's not much to do in Kloosterburen and the surrounding villages. However, it's wonderful to explore by bike; there are some lovely towns nearby, such as Pieterburen, Zoutkamp, Winsum, and, of course, Lauwersmeer lake.

Small and manageable village.

Small and manageable village. Quietly situated with opportunities for excursions into the Wadden Sea. Walks and bike rides in the surrounding countryside are very convenient. Two restaurants are within walking distance. The accommodation's service is noteworthy, offering fresh bread rolls in the morning and the option to order two dishes in the evening.

This place isn't suitable for an "action-packed holiday."

This place isn't suitable for an "action-packed holiday." But if you're simply looking for peace, nature, and a friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. We really enjoyed our stay there, especially the proximity to nature and the many animals, which are lovingly cared for. If you're looking for a bit more excitement, head to Groningen, a beautiful and vibrant city just 30 minutes away.
