Beautiful seaside town, near the afsluitdijk with fascinating interactive information available at the information centre, including some especially designed for children. All conveniences are nearby - we stocked up on groceries at the Jumbo.

Makkum is a very pleasant and picturesque town with...

Makkum is a very pleasant and picturesque town with beautiful houses and buildings, but it's quite a distance from the hotel. No problem by car, but on foot it's a strenuous and unexciting walk. There's plenty to do around the hotel, especially in good weather, if you enjoy swimming and other water sports. It's also certainly fun for children.

A beautiful beach (despite the offshore wind farm), a pretty...

A beautiful beach (despite the offshore wind farm), a pretty little town, green and quiet, but not boring. A paradise for families because of the diverse activities and shallow water. At the same time, it's not overcrowded, so you can truly relax. It's close to the North Sea (Harlingen, also lovely), where you can also go to the beach.

The deciding factor for the trip to Makkum was the surfing in the shallow water. The place is somewhat sleepy, and the campsite offers plenty of recreational activities (for children). There are a sufficient number of restaurants.

The location was beautiful.

The location was beautiful. The restaurant also had tables with a lake view, which I particularly liked. A definite drawback, however, was the lack of labeling on the food at the evening and breakfast buffets, including information on allergies.

Makkum is a small coastal town with beautiful houses, lovely...

Makkum is a small coastal town with beautiful houses, lovely canals, and a great place to spend time. We watched the locks and the boats. There's plenty of walking, and the beach isn't far away, at least by bike. We felt very comfortable and would highly recommend it.

Lovely airy room with views over the market square. Had Pizza from restaurant next door. Host was very willing to get us extra pillows and coffee sachets, and provided a safe place for our bikes.

The house was fabulous, very spacious and clean. The kitchen was very well equipped. There was ample parking space for our car. It was quiet, close to the beach for lovely walks.
