Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords...

Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords to Oslo. I stayed at the campsite located on top of the village which offers nice cottages and views of the surrounding mountains. The area offers plenty of hiking trails and 5-6 hours moose and muskOx safaris not far from Dombas starting at 10am. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do the safari since I stayed just for the night and left in the morning. All amenities are located in one spot at the Dombas Senter which includes petrol & many fast charging stations, cafeterias, a couple of restaurants, supermarkets and a huge souvenir shop all at reasonable prices. We ate at Moskusgrillen located on the opposite side. The restaurant offers some traditional food, meats, juicy burgers and large pizzas. We tried the deer burger, ribs and pizza and were all very good. I will definitely go back.

Room was great able to park right next to room. Staff was amazing, i arrived late and was able to catch end of the buffet dinner. Thank you to all the staff for letting me get some dinner before cleaning up. Thank you so much.

Dombas is a busy stop on the E6 route through Norway and I wasn’t expecting such a great hotel in this town, it really was exceptional. Nice small shopping mall with cafe and souvenir shop , also everything was in easy reach of hotel.

The city center is a big mess.

The city center is a big mess. Hasn't improved in my 73 years. Poor maintenance. Lacks environment. Can't stand a big asphalt slab. Look at Oppdal, Beitostølen, etc. Finally. All the weeds that grow up in the roundabout need to be cleaned up. Starting to look like an outback. This is supposed to be a symbol of Dovrefjell.

We were passing through on our way to our holiday...

We were passing through on our way to our holiday destination in central Norway. Our overnight stay in Dombås was a deliberate choice, and we weren't disappointed. Beautiful area, lots of nature, a few small shops, and the option to cater for ourselves. We'd gladly come back.

Dombas is only a small village.

Dombas is only a small village. It's surrounded by abundant nature, perfect for hiking and cycling (signposted trails). It's also a ski resort. We visited the local library, which is surprisingly well-equipped with a variety of fun things (for example, there's a games corner and a pool table for young people). There are several supermarkets, a sports shop, a souvenir shop, a bakery, and more.

We really appreciate the good communication. They responded promptly. We were a bit worried not being able to check-in by 10pm so we sent them a message and they replied right away informing us that we can have our keys even after check-in time. The place is almost in central Dombås where you wind groceries, gasoline station, restaurants, etc. Less than 5 minutes drive or less than a kilometer to walk there from the camp.

Didn’t stay at the motel but paid an extra 20€ to stay in the hotel. (Check-in for the motel is at the hotel). In early February the motel looked uninviting, cold and dark. Not sure anyone was staying there. Hotel was warm, bright and inviting with friendly staff.
