We were extremely pleased with this accommodation for our overnight stay. The owner welcomed us warmly, our room was upgraded to an apartment. Since we had to leave early, our breakfast was prepared in advance and placed in the fridge, so we didn’t miss anything. The apartment was very quiet and comfortable, we had a short but great rest.

Due to a snow storm we were unable to make it to the boat in Kristansand and this was our luck. We were able to add 2 more bonus days to our holiday at the last minute. And a bonus was the stay at the very friendly hospitable hotel Lillesand for sure. Stayed 2 nights in the suite in the quaint, kest-decorated picturesque village of Lillesand. Highly recommended.

It was an awesome experience! The way this “hotel” maintained the authenticity of the original prison was remarkable… newspaper articles covering the walls, preservations of the isolation cells, activity areas, shower, etc was amazing. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. There were no noice issues and all areas were well maintained as well as clean.

We were just passing through, and the accommodation was perfect for that. The room was clean and well-equipped. The shower was excellent, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very good and extremely plentiful. We also had no complaints about the staff.

Grimstad is a cozy little southern town.

Grimstad is a cozy little southern town. Its houses have cozy little alleys. They have a small beach promenade. They have a nice harbor for guest boats. They have many small cozy cafes as well as bars and nightclubs. In the summer there is a summer revue in Apoteker gården which also has a large cozy outdoor restaurant. On the weekend there were a lot of people there and elsewhere in the city.

A southern idyll with lots of exciting things to experience. Just walking around the narrow streets with white houses is an experience in itself, what architecture! The harbor is beautiful and it is not difficult to find cozy places to eat. Café Ibsen is a good option for lunch, with first-class interior furnishings and cozy outdoor seating.

Grimstad is a cozy little southern town free from hustle and bustle and is suitable as a cozy break from everyday life. Visited a cozy restaurant in the center with reasonable prices called Hytta Pizzeria. Visited Kreativt Møtesenter which is owned by the Ugland family and got to see their great collection of veteran vehicles and supplies.

Bordeaux is a very pleasant and atmospheric town.

Bordeaux is a very pleasant and atmospheric town. Small, charming old streets. Beautiful walks and scenic views. I recommend the Symbio Bistro Grimstad restaurant and café in the center. The only drawback is the lack of long-term parking. The only 24-hour parking lot is near the church.

This time there was no time to visit Grimstad town itself unfortunately. But I have been here before and think the town is absolutely beautiful. With all the white houses, restaurants, streets with shops and galleries.

As a more traditional inn style accommodation, Grimstad Vertshus combines rooms with a restaurant. The sprawling property occupies several interconnected buildings, with signs of a long history of hosting guests. My room was easily accessible on the ground floor, with a large bathroom and plenty of space to relax. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, and the personal was very friendly and welcoming.
