Recommended by a doctor colleague as the cleanest and best available hotel in Lumbini, Hotel Ananda Inn exceeded all expectations. With close and convenient access to the Maya Devi Temple, it offers not only comfort, but heartfelt hospitality and a rare, spiritual proximity. Kamala at reception brought charm and warmth to the property, while manager Ushan Shilpakar was endlessly gracious. Ramu and Madan at Maitri — the café and restaurant next door — ensured I was consistently well cared for. Clean rooms, a guest-focused energy, and a location that surpasses London, Manhattan, or LA. Thank you all for your gracious and welcoming hospitality. - I highly and sincerely recommend this property to anyone visiting the sacred heart of Lumbini.

Hotel Peaceland Lumbini is an excellent budget hotel in a very good location: it's only five minutes' walk from the main acces gate to Lumbini Area, and also to a street with ATMs, souvenir shops, supermarkets, local SIM cards for your phone etc. The room was large, clean, and the staff very helpful. At the ground floor, the hotel has its own restaurant, called Kudan. I stayed in this hotel for three nights in November. Seeing the other restaurants in the main street, I decided to try the Kudan restaurant. I had dinner here in the first evening, and the food was so good, that I had dinner at Kudan every night during my stay. I also did appreciate that the reception staff was able to recommend and book for me sightseeing tours with excellent drivers. One tour was with a taxi to Kapilavastu and the surrounding sites (the driver's name is Sunil), and the other tour was with a rickshaw for visiting the Lumbini Temples (driver's name is Sanu). Both have been excellent drivers and tour guides, both knowleadgeable and patient, considering the time I took for photography everywhere we stopped. I recommend you always book your taxi and rickshaw rides through the hotel, because they know which drivers are nice and worthy to be recommended. I did like this hotel a lot.

It's a nice historical and religious place. Very charming archeological sites, many modern nicely crafted temples and a very peaceful pleasant place for relaxation and meditation. I loved the place very much.

The place is crawling with poor street kids begging for food...

The place is crawling with poor street kids begging for food. All the money for a school and other needs have been wasted on some long and pointless brick walkway to the Maya Devi Temple and beyond. It's just another one of those misguided UNESCO projects typical of Western NGO thinking. The heat and lack of water is turning Lumbini into a scorched landscape of poverty and social misery. Its all about trying to turn the birth-site of Buddha into a tourist dependent dollar economy. Hopeless.

The temple complex at the birthplace of Buddha was really gigantic and definitely worth a visit. There was nothing else to see in the area a and for this reason it is only worthwhile to be there for a few days.

Thank you very much for going. It wasn't a great place with great scenery, but I'm still grateful to visit a place with history. 100NPR is also good to go by boat. Also it was so easy togetting around with auto(Tok).

The only attraction Lumbini has is the complex with Holy...

The only attraction Lumbini has is the complex with Holy Garden, New village with Peace pagoda and Monastries- very interesting and definitely worth visiting. I missed some extra information about architecture, why the canal was built etc. There was a museum which has been closed since Covid-pandemie, but I don't know if the content would have answered my questions. There are no information in the village available.

The Sacred Garden is magnificent, but Lumbini itself is a a...

The Sacred Garden is magnificent, but Lumbini itself is a a small place with little else to do and is now, probably due to pandemic, a town full of construction to buildings and roads and quite a few beggars. If you visit, stay for max of 2 days and outside of the town. The price of return flights if you are a foreigner means a trip to Lumbini can be an expensive couple of days.

The location is ideal—it's close to public transit, and major attractions. The restaurant was hygienic with variety of foods as well. Check-in was quick and easy, and staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I had a wonderful time in this hotel. I will definitely stay here if I visit again.
