It's lovely home, clean and tidy, location perfect, walking 5minutes to hot springs, 7 minutes driving to city center, beds very comfortable, shower aweome and georgeous views in a golf course. Ken is very friendly and gives lots of good suggestions. Excellent experience in living here.

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set.

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10. Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great. Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok. Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.

Matamata was a complete surprise.

Matamata was a complete surprise. We ate at 4 different restaurants and each place had friendly staff and good selections on the menus. The information centre staff were wonderful and very helpful. Hobbiton exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be returning to Matamata

Matamata is a nice little town with the usual array of shops...

Matamata is a nice little town with the usual array of shops and some good eating places. Of course its access to Hobbiton, which was the purpose of our trip, but enjoyed a pleasant evening eating fish n chips in the wooded, shaded park area by the Isite.

We were in Matamata for a wedding at Hobbiton which was a great experience for us, even though we are not Lord of the Rings fans. Plenty of places to dine and from Maple Lodge was an easy walk into the main centre of town.

Di's B&B was very homely. The bedroom was comfortable, the bathroom clean and even have a small kitchen to use if you'd wish so. A door takes you outside to a garden area. I personally love having a morning coffee enjoying the shine of the sun light so it was perfect. Matamata city center is easily reachable by car or is even a short walking distance away. I would definitely book again.

We loved our stay at Okauia Lodge. The location blew us away, it was beautiful sitting outside looking up into the hillside. Our host Alyson was amazing. The breakfast she provided was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are wanting a relaxed farm stay near Matamata and Hobbiton.

We were absolutely blown away by Kylie's hospitality and loved every minute of our stay in Matamata. It truly is a 10/10 location. The house is very clean, decorated with great attention to detail. We even got a lovely surprise, given it was our honeymoon. This place was a highlight on our trip to New Zealand. Highly recommend!

This little gem of a place was exactly as described. It has everything you need for a short or long stay. It was quiet and well equipped. The beds were very comfy and we didn't want for anything. It was also located in a great position for us to get to Hobbiton which was our main reason for staying in Matamata
